Malaysia Airlines 777 Missing

Depends on your perspective - it encourages me that even those whom maybe aren’t the smartest still want to be a part of helping others in their time of need.

It is most certainly possible to fly an airliner by remote control. Here is video of a 707 being flown remotely back in 1984.

I’m not saying this is what happened here, I just had to take issue with a statement that is so easily proven to be wrong.

Well obviously an airliner specifically modified to be controlled remotely can be remote controlled but that doesn’t apply to standard airliners you see at the airport.

That’s an example of an airliner being crashed by remote control, which is not exactly what most people mean by “flying”.

Yes, it’s possible to rig up an airplane to fly by remote - I am not aware of any commercial airplanes so outfitted.

Maybe they should try dowsing for it?

It would be awesome if Malaysia had some law which can legitimately be used to bankrupt that scum for preying on the victims’ families like he’s doing now.

Sumbich really went out on a limb there, didn’t he?

An oil rig worker stationed off the coast of Vietnam reported seeing a burning object fall into the ocean early Saturday, which could help show a fiery crash doomed the plane.

“I sense that it’s near water…”

I was wondering when somebody would trot out the “have somebody on the ground take control of the plane” inspiration.

If such technology were to be implemented, just how long do you suppose it would take for “the bad guys” to figure how to take over a plane that doesn’t need taking over? What do you suppose they would do with one once it was under their control?

Update: Missing Airplane Flew On for Hours

Disturbing, if true.

At least they have a good chance of finding water.

But that’s for the US, not for China, Australia or Malaysia. I can tell you it wouldn’t be true for Spain.

Ok apparently MAS offered to bring the families of some Chinese passengers from Beijing to KL, but there’s been some cock-up and they ended up in India instead. It’s very odd, all the articles I’ve found seem to have been taken down, but I found a headline:
“Chinese families of MH370 passengers fuming as MAS offers to bring them to KL but lands them in India instead”

Has anybody looked behind the couch cushions?
At this point, I wouldn’t trust Malaysia to exist, much less run a competent investigation. I think the plane is still at the airport of origin, waiting for clearance.

The press hysteria over this tragedy is unbelievable. They act like it’s unthinkable for a plane to go down. Incidents like this happen once in awhile. Sometimes there aren’t easy answers.

I think the hysteria is over the fact that the plane went down almost a week ago and we still haven’t found it. I can’t remember an occasion in my lifetime (43 years) during which so many people vanished without a trace for so long.

So the fact that the plane went down is not unthinkable; it’s the fact that we can’t find the damn thing that is unthinkable.

It’s the only story going on to write about.

I think it slipped into another dimension.

I read an item today that the plane could have flown almost anywhere over several hours without being seen by radar if it stayed over deep ocean.

I hate to think what we are going to have to put up with if no trace is ever found; the woodom will be all over the place. Of course it went into another parallel universe.
