I don’t have cable (because of Fox TV), so maybe that explains it. But I’ve recently been watching Malcom in the Middle once in a while, on UPN I think. In some episodes the boys are quite young and then in others they’re teens. So how long has it been on, and is it still in production?
Stupid show? Maybe, but it cracks me up. They remind me, in a way, of The Simpsons. Only not animated.
Peace,

It was a mid-season replacement starting in January 2000. It’s still on the air. It comes on 9pm Sundays on FOX.
It actually wasn’t on that long, but it hit them right at that age where boys start shooting up and growing hair in funny places.
The second and third sons (Reese and Malcolm) have undergone the greatest physical changes, with the oldest (Francis) and second-youngest (Dewey) changing relatively little. This is understandable, though, given the ages of the actors from 2000 to 2004:
20 to 24: Christopher Masterson (Francis)
14 to 18: Justin Berfield (Reese)
15 to 19: Frankie Muniz (Malcolm)
9 to 13: Erik Per Sullivan (Dewey)
“Malcolm” is actually 3 months older than “Reese”, interestingly. In any case, Muniz and Berfield have gone completely through puberty over the course of the show, with the attendant physical changes, we’ll see similar changes in Sullivan if the show lasts long enough, and Masterson was already an adult when the series started.
