Male/female groin shots

To kinda speak in contrary to my previous post, since if we’re gonna talk about ovaries instead of other parts, then let me tell you a fast hockey ball in the ovaries almost makes me hurl. This is an adequate description of it you described,

I’m not quite getting how one can get a blow to the franks and not have it hit the beans. It’s close quarters down there. I mean, sure, if you’re sporting some serious wood, John Rodger is at full attention, and while you’re doing your best immitation of a weathervane, a stone flung by some maniac with impeccable aim strikes the bald avenger from the side, thus delivering blunt force trauma to only the glans and/or shaft of the penis…well then I can see how it could happen.

Otherwise, if you’re getting struck in that region, chances are the testes are toing to absorb some of that blow.

If the upper inner thighs count as “groin” I assume the amount of nerves are the same in both genders and this is very painful. Obviously, women don’t have the external organs that men do. From self-defense lessons and readings, I’ve lead to believe a person can go into severe shock with the right kind of “groin” hit (or grab and crush) to a male. Not a good target for first self-defense move, as men by teens are on auto-defense of that. Use it after a distraction blow/scratch to the eyes or neck Just some additional, unsolicited, advice.

Even after taking martial arts for several years, I still am firmly of the “there is no reason to hit someone in the testies” camp. Infact, having been hit there, as all men have at some point, I would like to suggest that an intentional stike of sizeable force should not only be illegal, but a capitol offense punishable by on the spot execution

P.S. - Just because mine are sterile on me, doesn’t mean they dont hurt any less when struck, it just means I shoot blanks durring a different type of contact;)

I agree, it hurts differently, and worse than injuring yourself most other places (except your kidneys. A blow there is more painful IMHO.) but it’s not on the scale that males seem to experience. From hearing descriptions of what a blow to the testicles feels like, the closest Voodoochild can get to an apples-apples comparison is bad menstral cramps (except hopefully a blow to the testicles doesn’t hurt continiously and feel as though an invisible hand is trying to rip your insides apart for a day or two). You want to see what would cause a woman to be curled up in agony and maybe whimpering, that’d be your best bet. Fortunately not all women get bad cramps - some get none and others need to use a sick day because the pain is that incapacitating - and those who do don’t always get them.

When your comparing with the pain a man feels when he’s hit in the testicles it is sometimes easy to be mistaken abou the amount of pain he’s actually in. I have found that a lot of it is just showing off, especially when females are around. (Example: Anyone remember in school when we were tough to do the splits in PE? Back then all the guys would hold their balls and pretend it was really painful to “impress” the girls despite the fact the the only pain is the stretching in the legs).

A similar example would be “like the friend who was laying on the floor and idly tossing a hair brush up and down about a foot or two, who was curled up and moaning for a minute when he missed and it landed on his groin. I don’t think that would have hurt me at all.”

Or me for that matter and i’m male. Come on, how much of that was for show?

That’s not entirely true. Some people can be so berzerk on adrenaline (or many other things) they simply can’t feel it. According to Former cop David Hunter, if he had to knee a subject in the gonads and he still didn’t go down, it was going to be a very, VERY bad night. but ost peope even if they’ve gone nuts will still be dropped by the swift application of force to the nads.

I dunno. Angle of attack can make all the difference.

My cat for instance. He has a talent, a talent for jumping onto his supine master’s sack in just the right way to deliver an excruciating blow. Every once in a while, though, he gets a paw in the general area, but misses the target by an inch or two.

Like I said, makes all the difference. All the difference in the world.

Maybe TMI, but…

I was reading a sex advice column somewhere (perhaps the Playboy Advisor?) many years ago, and the topic of the day was anal sex. A warning was included in the “instructions” for men to keep in mind when copulating anally with a woman. The writer advised going slow and easy, because during anal sex the penis can poke against the woman’s ovaries. The writer explained that striking the ovaries causes pain in the woman that is very similar to a what a man feels when his testicles are struck.

So I will go with those who are saying that a kick to the vulva/labia would be similar to a kick to the penis (missing the testicles) as far as pain type and level.

Hey, look at how many page views we’ve got, do you think Cecil would dare to tackle this one?

I think voodoochild has answered his own question: most men experience extreme pain with a groin blow, while it varies pretty widely in women.

However, to add a couple data points: my lover (male) doesn’t experience much pain at all with a groin blow. I can squeeze his testicles nearly as hard as any other part of his body (although he’s pain-sensistive overall).

I (female) am in the “groin blow doesn’t hurt much more than anywhere else” catagory. I did, however, have an ovary which twisted on itself and pinched off its own blood and nerve supply. That was debilitating, vomit-causing pain even AFTER they gave me a whole lot of morphine. Like Qudgop says, that kind of pain just doesn’t compare.

One little tear. That statement brought just one little tear to my eye. And I only squealed like a stuck pig for three, maybe four seconds. No question, I really could be a Green Beret.

Sorry, Loopydude. I think it’s wierd, too. But convient.

And I’d like to apologize to Qadgop. My brain refuses to acknowledge that “q” is not always followed by “u”.

Dude, have you ever actually gotten knocked in the nuts? There’s no histrionics about it. If you get squarely hit in the family jewels, you are fucking down. I once fielded a relatively weakly hit ground ball which took a funny hop and nailed me in the nads. You had to drag me off the field. For five minutes I wasn’t about to get up.

Like I said, a strong rap of the finger, if you get me on the underside of my testicles, will put me in significant pain. And it’s a deep internal pain. It radiates inside, going up the abdomen. It is not a surface pain. The comparison of a kidney punch is the closest in description.

And the thought of somebody’s balls being squeezed as hard as any part of the body. Ouch. Ouchouchouch. Anything more than light pressure between two fingers will incapacitate me.

My friends and I asked my P.E. teacher about a year ago why it hurts so much to get struck in the nads. His explanation (and I’m pretty confident he knew his stuff) was that men have a sort of covering around each testicle. Just think shrink wrap. Well when you get hit down below, they expand, but the covering doesn’t. The resulting pain comes from the pressure caused. I think it radiates out and incapacitates like it does (and Lord, does it ever) because its an internal thing, and the organ itself is hurting, not just pain receptors in or just below the skin.

I can only guess what women feel when they get hit, but I’m gonna assume that a light strike hurts only a little bit more than anywhere else. However, if you can imagine a football punt or  bicycle rod between the legs at substantial force, that would probably impact hard enough to hit the ovaries and/or pubic bone. and THAT would really smart. also, factors such as pcos, time of the month, other medical conditions probably have something to do with it.

I’ve been kicked in the nads twice, the first time i felt (the only way i can describe it) like an electric shock then no pain after the first couple of seconds. The second time i felt a dull stomach ache but it was by no means enough to “drop” me. Maybe i have a high pain threshhold, who knows…

As a side note, i’ve found that the pain i feel when i poke/slap my testicles (research purposes!!) is VERY similar to what i feel if i do the same thing to my eye. Does this ring true with anyone else?

NO way man. Clearly you lack the pain felt by some men, myself included. I was going to suggest you grabb a nut in one hand and giving it a good finger thump with the other and tell me that doesnt feel like a totally differnent type of pain. Once you could speak and breath again.

but evidently you’ve already played that game.

Oh, and listen to the good Doc girls… the only thing similar is a bump to the ovaries.
