Man dressed as a woman is no threat in ladies' restroom!

So chill baby!

.

Oh, Abby… you always know just what to say. :slight_smile:

I love Dear Abby. I read it for its uncommon common sense and youthful perspective.

Yes I do.

I like that answer… a definite sign of progress, yay… but curious why she assumed the trans lady was “pre-op.” It didn’t say anyone voyeured her crotch. Maybe DA was thinking of facial feminization surgery. However, FFS is not conditioned upon real life test. That only applies to genital reassignment surgery.

Hey, if a guy is so desperate for female contact that he’d pretend to be a transvestite in order to get it, I’d say let him!

No threat unless those high heels were fierce.
Then just ask where he got them. If they look your size, ask to try them on.

I think we need to clarify a few of these terms:

a cross dresser wears the clothing of the opposite sex;

a transvestite cross dresses as a fetish;

a transsexual dresses (and identifies) as the target sex.

In mainstream SRS protocols, the patient must successfully live, dress and work as the target sex: this includes operating in the clothing of the target sex, and using the restrooms of the target sex.

There may well be some individuals who are CD/TV, but not TS, who use the opposite sex restroom. Even in these cases, it is likely that such is motivated more by a desire to not get annhilated by the men in the male restroom.

Is CD/TV a channel I haven’t found on Comcast?

My fave! All Chinese Dancing, all the time!

What’s up with Abby? First the woman with the cross dressing husband, now this!

(BTW, at this point you have to hit “previous day” in the link to get the letter being discussed.)

Her picture scares me–cross between Betty Crocker and Susi Orman…
The column must automatically update–there is nothing about cross dressers using the ladie’s room today (Saturday).

Here’s the current link: Dear Abby

Although she glossed over some subtleties, it’s a good column that I hope helps the everyday folks who read Dear Abby understand a little bit about trans people’s difficulties. Since this person is attempting to use the women’s, what we presumably have here is a trans woman who does not currently pass. (I guess that’s why Dear Abby figured she was pre-op - the assumption being that if she hasn’t had FFS yet, she’s probably in the early stages of her real life test.)

OK, matt, it makes more sense the way you said it.

How To Tell If The Putative Trans/vestite/sexual In The Ladies Room Is Pre or Post Op:

Peek under the stall and see if feet point towards or away from the toilet. Then slap yourself for being so gauche as to peek under a toilet stall. Really!
*unless you’re just doing a quick check for stall occupancy. Hey, just busting in is ruder :wink:
