I hope he enjoyed his video game and the episodes of Fringe he watched. Because I doubt they have X-Box and cable TV in prison, so they’ll have to last him the next 15 years.
There was a story very similar to this in the news a few months ago – in fact, my initial reaction was to wonder who re-animated that old thread.

State check… and Florida is a go! I would’ve bet money, but that’s like shooting fish in a barrel. He’s only been there for 3 months, but he’s been Florida for life.

I’m sure he was standing his ground in the face of a vicious baby attack.
I remember when my ex-wife was pregnant and we took a baby class, one of the things they taught us is that when your baby is crying and crying and crying and crying and crying and crying and crying and it WILL happen and it’s starting to drive you up the effin wall, that it’s not wrong to just take a break. Put the kid down in it’s crib and go outside and heave a cigarette or call a neighbor for help so you can take a 10 minute walk around the block or a shower. But do something to get yourself away from the noise and frustration for a few minutes. Just a little break here and there can go a long way in preventing you from smothering or shaking your kid. It’s one of those pieces of advice I tell new parents.
I remember when one of my coworkers had a baby (before I did). After a few months he said “I would never, ever shake my baby…but I can understand why it happens”. A few years later when I had mine I thought the same thing.
Was the father the one who called the authorities? I’m surprised he cared that much.
That’s incredibly smart advice. Better to have a baby crying alone for 10 minutes, than something tragic happen.
