Man, that takes me back. (The "Get A Job" cartoon.)

I can’t believe I stumbled across THIS (10min) video from my adolescent youth.
I remember my friend and I used to watch this video stoned out of our mind laughing our asses off. It was funny to us because our parents used to bitch at us on a daily basis to go out and get a freaking job.

Of course, we had better things to do as it was summer and there was pot to be smoked.

This used to get a lot of air play back in the 80’s on one of the cable channels. Can’t remember which one.

It alos seems a little weird to me that it’s a Canadian PSA video. I didn’t know that back then. Why the hell were they showing it in the States? [shrug]

It’s not a PSA, is it? I thought it was just a short film funded by the National Film Board (like many others).

Those kind of short animated films make good filler between TV shows.

Not bad, but I like this similar offering much better. The animation’s not that great, but the song rocks!

Thank you for posting that. I don’t think I’ve ever seen it before.

I would not have guessed that it was made in 1985. It really is, just like the YouTube description says, a brilliant homage to Bob Clampett.

I’m not looking at the OP’s YouTube link because this machine I’m using doesn’t do videos – But I’m guessing you must be talking about that Bob Dog cartoon, right?

I remember that from when it was going around in theaters a long time ago. I recently found it on YouTube (on my other machine that does YouTube) about a year ago. It’s a fun to watch cartoon.

I remember seeing this on tv in the '80s. Looking now, I see that Bob Dog was voiced by Al Simmons who I have admired since before 1985.

One of the links on the side on youtube was to Clampett’s Tin Pan Alley Cats which I remember very well even though it apparently hasn’t been on tv since 1968.
