Man Thows Shoes at W: Can He Sink Lower?

Not sure what forum this belongs in. Can Bush’s life and legacy sink any lower? He was giving a speech during a surprise visit to Iraq and a man threw not one, but two shoes at him (apparently an insult in the middle east). I almost feel sorry for the guy. What’s next, will Barney leave him?http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/28220165/

I didn’t know Random Task was in Iraq right now. We need to get Austine Powers on this.

It was quite a feet. He was a sole brother who was sick of being walked on.

I’m going to leave this here in case a debate actually breaks out, but this feels more like an IMHO poll or MPSIMS observation on the world to me. There is not enough rage to be a Pitting.

The saddest thing is, GW managed to duck both attempts.

I think the saddest thing is no one thought enough of Bush to remove mr Random Task from the audience.

That really stings you know.

Honestly, Who throws a shoe?

No, no. The real saddest thing is that there is no Youtube clip. Yet.

Ahhh, just shows he’s not in-step with the rest of the world.

I just saw the video on MSNBC.

<ahem>

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA:D

How extraordinary. Throwing two shoes at someone is considered an insult in the Middle East, you say? What a strange culture. I like the implication that throwing only one shoe at someone can be interpreted in other ways.

Bush’s life and legacy does not sink any lower merely because some guy in Iraq threw shoes at him. Anybody can have shoes thrown at them.

Good call, Mr. Blather. For all of the arrogance, hyperpartisanism, and unilateralism of the Bush administration, it’s really the substantiative and carefully considered debate technique of throwing shoes that’s really going to make Bush step back and wonder if his time as president had value for himself or the world.

G.W Bush will likely never face any real consequences for the staggering amount of suffering he has caused others. He’s even managed to duck the minor annoyance of getting hit with a shoe. He’ll retire to his ranch in Texas, spending the rest of his days clearing brush while someone ghost writes his memoirs.

I didn’t see any ‘shoe-related’ incident?

The report did explain one thing though. If the visit had not been a secret one, I bet the man would have worn his hob-nails!

Where was Bush’s security detail?

I just saw the NBC tape and the guy managed to throw one shoe, bend down and then throw the other shoe. While Bush did duck both times, there was more than enough time for someone with a weapon to do far more harm than throwing a shoe.

Irrespective of the dislike many of us have for Bush, his security detail really failed here.

I think we could learn from the Iraqis. Lefty is nae, righty is yea. Just throw it at however’s speaking when you’ve heard enough. That should cut down on filibusters.

Not exactly.

They wont even take a shoe for him! Now THAT is sad.

Heh, I’m not surprised. It was all an act. He was born in Connecticut, and he’s afraid of horses!
