If a chimp felt sufficient resistance of strength he would almost immediately go into defensive mode, running trying to get away and biting. I would think chimps are very hard to hurt physicaly but unlike a pit bull not strong willed to fight a dangerous battle. They are bullies by nature and not very brave. I would give the edge to the human in this case if he could endure some nasty wounds in the process.
