I’m a huge Cohen Bros fan. I haven’t seen their latest yet, but I will do soon. If you’ve seen it, did you like it? Are you a Cohen fan? Can it really be true that it’s their best yet, ahead of “Fargo” and “Blood Simple”? I’d love to believe this, but it’s hard to imagine. (No spoilers please).
There’s a new Coen Brothers film coming out already?
Flow me some linkage!
These guys don’t seem to be troubled by lack of ideas or innovation. I always have high hopes and expectations for their releases, and I’m rarely disappointed.
I’m pretty much over the bathrobe thing, too, disappointing as it was to have the very core of my existence parodied.
Er, … yeah, that should have been ‘Coen’ and not ‘Cohen’. Just testing.
Linkage: The Man Who Wasn’t There. Billy Bob Thorton, Frances McDormand in a Noir styled comedy.
Just saw it. I’m a Coen Bros. fan, but I wouldn’t say it’s their best ever–then again, Barton Fink and Miller’s Crossing are my all-time favorites, which is hardly the usual ranking. I’d give it an 8 of 10 compared to regular movies, 6 of 10 compared to other Coen flicks.
One one thing you can count on the Coens for, though: some people will leave the theatre saying (in the words of the girl sitting in back of me) “Wasn’t that just the weirdest movie ever?”
I saw it. I liked it. It was quirky and strange, like all Cohen Bro’s films. Billy Bob smoked too much for my taste but what the hay?
But it is not there best work. Not by a long shot.
But I was completely turned on by the teenage girl angle. or is that TMI?
