I scared my cat right off the arm of my chair and into the basement when I read the verdict headline on CNN.
He got over it when I fed him.

No, I mentioned this to my wife as one reason I thought acquittal or hung jury was possible. If they get doxxed, it could get ugly. I’m remembering what that guy did to Pelosi’s husband.
I think these 12 just stood up, unafraid, and did their civic duty. At some point, I believe it is now, American citizens will feel free to live Constitutionally regardless of what some deranged Trump sucker might think.
Then you would’ve been excused with the jurors who said the same thing, so no problem!
Exactly.
One of the smartest things Judge Merchan did at the outset of jury selection was to allow any prospective juror who didn’t want to serve on this jury for any reason to be excused.
Experienced judges know that you never want a juror on your panel who isn’t willing to be there. They will fuck you up.
Perhaps G-d doesn’t hate me after all.
Well, perhaps She doesn’t hate me TOO much.
You mean the brains behind the whole operation?
/s
No, that would be a movement schedule.
All I can say is who friggin’ ray.
Yeah, it occurred to me back during the jury selection that the judge was looking specifically for volunteers. (A point made by many here as well I’m sure) I don’t know what that says, but I think it says something.
Agree with this. They (the MAGAs) want us to be afraid. Afraid of what may happen if…That’s all they got - empty threats. Americans, REAL Americans will stand-up to this shit. We’re not effing North Korea where you have to be careful what you say and what you do for fear of pissing off Dear Leader. Screw that!
Yeah, there is a non-zero risk some wacked-out MF will stir some shit up with these jurors, but I say F-them - we cannot be afraid to do the right thing. If I were on this jury I would have done my job all the same and yeah, I would probably keep a low profile for a while, but not be afraid.
Congratulations to the whole prosecution team. They took on a difficult case with some age on it. They brought a two pronged conspiracy together and convincingly persuaded 12 individuals that felonies occured.
Thanks to Pecker and Hope Hicks for their honesty. Thanks also to Stormy and Cohen for enduring blistering personal attacks to get the story out.
Thanks to Sleepy Joe for tirelessly orchestrating all aspects of this prosecution between naps.
And thanks Donald, for hamstringing the defense; it made things much easier.
Almost forgot to thank the mystery witnesses who made themselves scarce dooming the defense.
Yes, yesterday Michael Fanone, the Capitol officer who was tased (and whose heart stopped) on 1/6, who had the nerve to say that trump was “authoritarian with a violence fetish” on Tuesday, found his elderly mother’s house SWAT-ed by a maganut.
Exactly! Sleepy Joe is so incompetent that his corrupt administration has now successfully prosecuted the most innocentest man in the world. But the bestest, most Presidential Trump administration could not get a single conviction on Hilary.
People were so focused on trump and the lawyers that they didn’t spot Biden who was in the courtroom every day disguised as a New York City detective. Occasionally, he sat behind trump disguised as Eric. Even Donnie didn’t notice.
My take on it is, yes, I am afraid. And I want to make it so I don’t have to be afraid any more. So I will do my part, whatever it may be, to try to change the world into one where I don’t have to be afraid. And diminishing Trump’s power is part of that.
This is a convicted felon we are talking about.
The first amendment has limits. Speech acts do affect sentencing. As part of the pre-sentencing investigation, DJT is required to talk to a probation department officer (social worker?) and, unless self-destructive, impress on them why he can be safely allowed in the community with low risk of reoffending. And given his lack of contrition, and that is is running for office again, I think the risk of recidivism, during the next five months or so, is substantial.
Is impressing the person writing your pre-sentencing report consistent with saying you were railroaded? I doubt it.
The deadline to start the appeals process is 30 days after sentencing. Someone can correct me, but I think the connection of appealing, and the sentencing date, is that before sentencing, a normal recently convicted felon is in the mode of trying to get the lowest sentence possible by, um, basically acting the opposite of the way Donald Trump normally acts.
One of the words is Gobemouche
Definition: a credulous person; especially one who believes everything he or she hears
I propose a new word: MAGAmouche
Definition: a credulous person; especially one who believes everything he or she hears from Donald Trump
I turned on Fox as the verdicts were still coming out. Almost immediately it was “The crooked judge with Biden pulling his strings” who was behind all this. Bartiromo was going on about how the now- convicted felon was the strongest man she ever met in her entire life and how he would persevere through this sham. I couldn’t take too much of it, though. Seriously, how anyone who could use Fox as their main source of news is beyond me. That’s all I need to know about a person to consider them a political moron,
I’ll have whatever Michael Cohen is drinking tonight! I’m sure it’s good stuff!
Moments after the verdict, the CNN headline was “Trump found guilty on all counts”. The Fox headline? “Trump blasts judge and jury”.
