“For which?” I said.
“The New York hush money thing.” Pause. “But it’s significant that you have to ask that.”

But it is somehow fitting that the first thing Trump is ever charged with is something really sleazy.

The added bonus is the Orange Peril’s tweeted “respect” for grand juries just yesterday when the Orange One thought they were deferring an indictment. 
I was not gonna do this champagne thing but I found a split of Cava and some blackcurrant cordial left over from newyears in the fridge and am sitting down for my upcoming zoom meeting with a glass of (sorta) kir royale. Santé, everybody!
Just for the record, this is not the first time a President or ex-President has faced criminal charges. Grant was arrested for speeding. IIRC, the arresting officer (a black man)'s words were “Sir, I have the utmost respect for you, but the law is the law”. President Grant pled guilty.

The weaponization of the legal system to advance a political agenda turns the rule of law on its head.

The Soros-backed Manhattan District Attorney has consistently bent the law to downgrade felonies and to excuse criminal misconduct. Yet, now he is stretching the law to target a political opponent.
Florida will not assist in an extradition request given the questionable circumstances at issue with this Soros-backed Manhattan prosecutor and his political agenda.
DeSantis is already groveling at the alter of the orange defendant, saying Florida will refuse to help with extradition if asked. How that “party of law and order” working out for you, Ronny? I forgot, it’s not illegal if a Republican does it. /s

Maddow is apparently worried about DeSantis just now on her show. (Don’t have clip yet.) This is what could lead to trouble if CFSG refuses to show up. I’m confused about this. HE won’t be able to campaign entirely from Florida, so he wouldn’t be able to leave FL.
