For some reason, Trump really seems to want to insult/threaten witnesses and jury members from this trial
I suspect he wants to send a mob-boss message to folks for his upcoming trials.

I’ve said it before, but that’s exactly what he’s doing.
Think of Don Vito Corleone, the Godfather. He never actually told anybody to do anything; he just dropped broad hints. “Nice racket that Corelli is running there. It would only be the courteous thing to do if he cut us in for a piece of it.” Sonny hears that and mentions it to a guy, who mentions it to another guy, and soon Corelli is the victim of extortion. But you cannot trace anything back to Don Vito—he was just musing aloud one day, and if some people misunderstood, well …
That’s what Trump does, only not so subtly.
He should have been perp-walked on January 7, 2021.
I’d have settled for Jan. 21.
We all would have been. The man is a menace to society. And a traitor.
He should have been prosecuted for serial rape decades ago.
Has anyone accused him of rape?
Seems to me that E Jean Carroll basically said that he raped her. Some people do not consider using one’s fingers as actual rape, but, where does one draw the line?
E. Jean Carroll, “Katie Johnson”/Jane Doe, Ivana Trump (later recanted).
Not “basically”. She accused him of raping her. With his penis. The jury couldn’t conclude that he had done so and found him liable for sexual battery for penetrating her digitally. But she has unambiguously accused him of rape.
Trump argued that the E Jean Carroll case exhonerated him because he wasn’t actually found liable for rape. And let’s not forget he filed suit against Carroll for defamation for her claims that he raped her but the judge through that case out. Rape in New York is (or was) defined specifically and penile penetration so using your fingers wasn’t technically rape even if in everyday parlance we might consider it so.
At least 26 women, starting with his first wife, have accused him of rape, sexual assault and peeping tommery.
The judge stated that it was rape in common parlence.
Moderating:
I understand you all are clarifying what was meant by the accusation of rape against Trump, but you’re extensively discussing the E. Jean Carroll case in the Stormy Daniels thread. This creates confusion.
I think the point has been made and those discussing this should drop it now, or make your post in the appropriate thread and link back to this one.
BREAKING NEWS
MSNBC is reporting right now on a new attempt in July by Trump’s lawyers trying to buy Stormy Daniels silence to keep her quiet during the 2024 election. They have emails and documents with the details. I am having trouble finding anything in print about this Chris Hayes and Rachel Maddow on the air discussing it live
I’m not really clear if there is a crime here or what it would be but definitely not a good look for the Trump campaign.
Because it worked so well the first time they tried it?
To add some detail:
Daniels owed Trump money due to a court judgment. The lawyers were negotiating a payoff. The Trump lawyers offered a reduced amount if Daniels also agreed to not discuss or disparage Trump in the lead up to this election. Daniels rejected it, so Trump then countered with an increased money demand.
They eventually settled, Daniels paid, and she never agreed to stay silent.
Huh?
I thought the guilty one in this scandal was Trump , who owed her money.
If now it’s Daniels who is guilty of something, and poor ol’ Trump who needs to be compensated, Foxnews is going to spin this with headlines that make Trump look good.
This is more proof that he really is being persecuted by the mainstream media and the libruls! Trump is innocent! The system is rigged!
No, he doesn’t owe her money. He owes E Jean Carroll money.
As to the consequences of his guilt, that is still to be decided. Sentencing is not until after the election.
Daniels tried to sue Trump for defamation (I believe this was when Michael Avenatti, who has since gone to prison, was representing her). She lost and owed him attorneys fees.
(It’s actually much more than that. She ended up paying over $600,000)
To make it a crime, I suspect the payoff would have to be made AND Trump would have to fail to report it as a campaign expense.
Yeah, I’d be very surprised if there’s a crime there. Unseemly as hell, and a sign that Trump is still intimidated by Daniels, and worried about her being able to say things publicly about him, but not illegal.
