I’d say on the borderline of envelope-pushing. I’ll ask the other mods what they think (although I may not get to it immediately).
I don’t see why everyone is getting their panties in such a twist about JOSH’s sign off. I think it’s even kind of cute in a wackadoodle way. I certainly wouldn’t want to see everyone doing the same sort of thing, though, so perhaps a slippery slope argument applies. But as it is, it seems to me more like a job for the “ignore” button than an issue that requires mod intervention.

Actually, that wasn’t the one that got me wondering and inspired the OP. Nope, not “Regards,” either. It was that little texty emoticon doodle of a dude with glasses that always makes me think it’s saying something but isn’t. Again, not panty twisted, but it did make me *wonder *how these three, and others, “get away with” signatures that aren’t Signatures. And my question was answered in post 2, so I’m good.

Well, Biffs, I have been on boards where the Sigs routinely took up more space than the content. And, generally I find sigs to be annoying, even “regards”. I don’t want the SDMB to be “that place”.
Mind you, I do have a sig “I am not a real doctor” which I add when there might be confusion.
