A relatively new feature of http://www.mapquest.com is aerial photos that correlate to ther computer-generated maps. In response to the events of 9/11, they have updated their images of the WTC and the Pentagon. Simply go to their homepage and click on the appropriate links. You can zoom in on the photos to an apparent height of 1,500 feet.
Bumpity bump-bump, bumpity bump-bump…
Wow.
Other than the burnt scar on the Pentagon, that building looks pretty cool from overhead.
Of course the WTC site just looks like a smoldering mess. But since we haven’t been shown too many overhead pictures lately, I hadn’t imagined what it must look like there, now.
