The Belgian paedophile and serial killer Marc Dutroux is seeking to be released from prison having served only 17 years.
During his trial there were a lot of theories about a lot of other high-ranking people also having been involved in the child sex, possible even the royal family involved. And that there were massive cover up. etc.
Did they ever come to a general consensus on these issues? On a whacky-scale how whacky are the conspiracy theories. Is it Moon-Landing-Never-Took-Place stupidity, or something more believable?
That conspiracy theory is actually older than the Dutroux case and was heavily supported by various sensationalist leftist newspapers/magazines since the 80’s.
It started in the early 80’s with a psychiatrist who was locked in a custody battle with his ex-wife and accused her with the help of a Francophone weekly magazine of taking part in orgies which involved children and (extreme-right) dignitaries/high-ranking members of the paramilitary police, and in which then crown-prince Albert had some role. This was called the “pink ballets” because the orgies supposedly took place in swimming pools filled with jam. The case was declassified because no evidence was found, but since then every big child abuse case was linked to these pink ballets.
In the early 80’s there was also a string of deadly robberies which left 28 people dead and were never solved. There were lots of conspiracy theories pushed by certain media that the robberies were ordered by fascist barons and done by members of the paramilitary police force to destabilize the country and take it over. They also linked suspects to the pink ballets.
Then in the mid 80’s a notary locked in a custody battle with his ex-wife was accused by her of raping their sons, which was linked to the pink ballets by 2 Flemish newspapers/magazines, who started a hate campaign against the notary. The accusations turned out to be completely false.
When the Dutroux case happened a witness contacted an investigator of the case and testified that she was victim of a child prostitution network which involved Dutroux, barons and politicians etc. Her testimony is initially widely believed by various magistrates, high ranking members of the police force and by the investigator assigned to her, who puts a lot of investigators on the case but eventually gets pulled off the case because he interrogated her unprofessionally (feeding her information and covering up her mistakes etc). Then she gave an interview to the same newspapers/magazines as in the notary case and they pushed her story as true and that the government was trying to cover it up by pulling the original investigator. In the interviews she also claimed that she has memories of her grandmother training her as a prostitute from before she was 1 year old and that she has Multiple Personality Syndrome with 169 distinct personalities.
Eventually lie after lie was uncovered and the conspiracy theory died down.
So in short, it’s a conspiracy theory made up by parents in custody battles, a crazy woman and pushed by sensationalist media. And nobody ever apologized for the bullshit they published.
That’ll bbe Andre Pinon. Cleverly recorded his wife admitting that she, and his colleague (her lover) were orgiasts. The tape is later stolen, the only thing taken when his house in burglarised. He gets another copy from his Private Eye, but then it’s forbidden to be used in the custody hearing. So he loses custody.
He’s then contacted by a woman involved in the orgies, this is the original source for the orgies involving children and numerous luminaries. The earlier recording only has a few minor names. She mentions a couple of property developers later killed in the Brabant massacres. Claims the wife of one of the orgiasts was murdered by the group, claims the judge in his custody case is one of them, so on.
She is recorded by a lefty journalist but says she will deny everything when she finds out he’s a journo. She later says she dreamt up the conspiracy theory herself to make Pinon feel better, although she never seems to have met him before. Just before the story goes to press the magazine the journalists works for is burned down by an intelligence-backed right-wing terror group called the Front de la Jeunesse, supposefly due to other grudges between the two.
Later the two aforementioned property developers are killed in the Brabant massacres, government backed right-wing terror attacks meant to turn people against democracy and left-wing economic ideas. They had claimed to have tapes of the ballets roses. A few years later Paul Latinus, head of another right-wing terror group linked to the intelligence services, the Westland New Post (originally part of the Front de la Jeunesse), is found dead of “suicide”, having claimed ro have received death threats related to the “Pinon file”.
One of Latinus’ assistants later claimed to have done reconnaissance on the supermarkets attacked by the Gang of Nijvel in the Brabant massacres. Libert, his name was. He had previously been exposed by the same magazine burned by the FJ, and fled to Pinochet’s Chile, and was an informant for the Surete and the DIA.
Pink ballet is just a euphemism for orgy. I’ve never seen any mention of pools of jam.
There is little doubt that the Brabant massacres were the work of right-wing paramilitaries linked to the international Gladio organisation. They certainly weren’t robberies, as little was ever taken and on at least one occasion stolen money and goods were found dumped in a river. One real robbery, maybe, of a gun store. But the other incidents were terrorism, not theft.
The two orgiast developers mentioned above, killed in one of the attacks, had their car stolen. It was found dumped, along with all the loot taken in the attack. A policeman was also killed in that attack. Several other orgiasts were killed in the attacks. The two had earlier claimed to have videos of orgies. The investigation was run by the same orgiast who forbade the playing of Pinon’s tape in court, and he was also in charge of the investigation of the “suicide” of Latinus.
Is this the one who knew the internal arrangement of a castle she claimed to have been abused in? I haven’t read much about the X-witnesses, to be honest.
What we know for certain to be true is that the Pinon affair did involve a custody dispute, that the mother was involved in orgies and that the magistrate who decided for her was also alleged to be involved. We know the Brabant massacres were a conspiracy, by the same people who probably burned down the offices of the paper reporting on the pinon affair and their masters, and that they targetted a couple of orgiasts. We know these right wing paramilitary types were involved in government corruption, illegal arms trading (including to Iraq) and probably the murder of Andre Cools.
And Dutroux, of course he had accomplices. Not just Lelievre, Derochette and Nihoul, either. He’s also meant to have known a foreign diplomat called Ritto, who went to prison in his homeland in connection with a child abuse scandal in a care home. And Nihoul know John Singlaub, who traded in smack in Afghanistan when working against the Soviets. Nihoul was also implicated in the murder of the deputy Prime Minister Andre Cools, which leads into various acknowledge scandals and conspiracies. Cools’ replacement in government, also a suspect in his death, was forced to resign as a result of a bond market scandal, several other ministers soon had to resign due to taking bribes from an Italian helicopter company, and the “Arms for Iraq” scandal, which was very big at the time.
Again? Early release from a kiddy-kiiling sentence is how he got into this mess!
All the evidence is circumstantial. Dutroux knew, and teamed up with, some other paedo-child killers. They all knew Michel Nihoul, who was, among other things, a socially prominent pimp who included underage girls in his catalogue. Several of the alleged elite paedophiles knew him, Nihoul, and several of the elite paedophiles have been accused by other witnesses, have been shown to be involved in domestic terrorism, in forging end user certificates and suchlike. Direct Duroux-Royalty links don’t exist, it’s more a game of “six degree of serious organised crime”.
There is not a snowball’s chance in hell Dutroux will be released early. He knows it, everyone knows it.
The only real controversy is if Dutroux should be granted such hearings at all. Some say he should, just like a normal prisoner. Most people say it is just another way dutroux amuses himself and gets to leave his prison, at the expense of the tax payer. (Lots of guards and officers are neccesary to bting Dutroux from his prison to the courthouse, which is in a different toen. )
after reading and watching videos about this case im pretty sure that there were a a high class pedo ring , and that Dutroux wasnt working alone . 1 - he wasnt very smart and didnt had a job , still he had 5 big houses and villas . where did he got the money ? . 2 - hes wife and a guy that worked 4 him said that the girls were "ordered " . 3 - his mother and his friend told the police theat he had girls in his cellar , but thte police did nothing about it , although they were missing girls at the time .4 - key witnesses disappeared \ killed at the time of the trial .
Doesn’t every country in the world have a similar conspiracy theory? There even seems to be similarities between the theories: for instance it always seems to be members of right wing parties involved in these supposed “crimes”.
Certain quarters in the UK got themselves into a frenzy during the recent Jimmy Savile scandal openly stating that there was a high-level paedophile ring operating within the country. A former senior Tory government official was all but named explicitly on BBC’s flagship current affairs programme, Newsnight. Search online and you get conspiracy theories suggesting his name dating back to at least the mid 1990s. Turned out it wasn’t him, but somebody with a similar name. Cue him suing the BBC and everybody that named him on Twitter.
There certainly seems to be a “copy-and-paste” aspect to these conspiracy theories. I’d suggest that this says more about the mindset of the people making the accusations than it does about the people they accuse.
After all, the boogeyman is usually in the mirror…

Right wing parties have an estalished inclination towards international conspiracies, especially back in the 70s and 80s. Think of the Contras and their allies railing against Soviet stooges, while running an international conspiracy against democracy. Or the Condor network of rignt-wing dictatorships in Latin America, whose crowning glory was the murder of Orlando Letellier in Washington DC. Or the CIA-backed “Cocaine Coup”, organised by an alliance of the CIA, the drug barons, escaped Nazi war criminals such as Klaus Barbie and Italian international right-winger Stefano della Chiaie. Or the Nazi paedophile ring at Colonia Dignidad which helped Pinochet torture and murder Chilean leftists (the leader was a former SS officer, turned paedophile priest, turned founder and leader of bizarre Nazi-paedo Andean cult, so literally a Nazi paedophile group). Or CIA types like Dan Mitrione kidnapping people off the street in Uruguay to be tortured to death so as to train the local death squads. And Europe had the Gladio network, which launched terrorist attacks which killed hundreds of people in Italy, propped up the fascists in Spain and Portugal, overthrew democracy in Greece, massacred leftists, dealt drugs and overthrew various governments in Turkey, helped escaped Nazis in Denmark, launched terrorist attacks in Germany, tried to murder the President of France, and so forth. SO yes, with WACL and the CIA and the Gladio and Condor networks it’s hardly surprising that the right-wing networks involved in terrorism, state-backed murder, gun-running, drug-smuggling and su bversion sometimes got involved with paedophilia.
And Casa Pio, the Dutroux and related affairs in Belgium, the Colin Wallace business in Ireland, the Haut de la Garenne scandal in Jersey and the Franklin Cover-up in the USA are just examples of that.
