Marcel Marceau Dead at 84

Oh, come on. You guys aren’t even trying.

I have all his records.

That’s why he mimed with that outrageous accent.

I really liked the cover that Simon and Garfunkel did of “Sounds of Silence”.

Brian Eno’s version was better.

Or how about his covers of Bob Seger’s “Against the Wind” and Alice in Chains’ “Man in the Box?”

I used to love his radio show, The Mime and Juggling Hour. Very peaceful.

Well… don’t quit your day job.

What?

Assume he died quietly at home.

He keeps pawing at the air but he can’t get through… Go toward the light , Marcel, it’s in the box.
Good Og, I can’t believe I’m finding comedic relief in a man’s death. I’m going to hell, but hey, I got some good one liners. I’m satisfied.

:frowning:

Nah, his last words were “Mommy…I want to become a mime!”

Rumours that he will be buried in an invisible box remain unconfirmed.

It sure was an unmimely death.

Although I am not a fan of mimes, I quite enjoyed my old screen saver Kill the Mime game, but Marcel was different. It was like he was the only mime, and now the world will be mimeless.

So every cloud has a silver lining, in other words?

Since Harpo Marx is dead, most likely it will be Shields & Yarnell.

I take it you never saw him in a full-length, live performance?

I did. He was great, and I don’t even speak french.

RIP, Marcel.

Marceau’s considerably underrated cover of John Cage’s “4′33″” I think is the definitive version.
