Oh! Yes, that’s her. She made quite the splash. ![]()
A great saying, but I doubt he thought it up himself. Still, whoever did write it had the correct idea, and I’m sure they explained the meaning to the kid.
The nationwide actions really do warm my heart and make me think the tide has turned against the gun filth.
Jerk says kids should learn CPR, not try to make new laws.
It’s not generally a good idea to insult a bunch of voters, is the first thing; the kids who can’t vote yet will be able to soon. Next, considering this guy’s public record, he’s just insulted a bunch of highly motivated people who are much smarter than he is. Last, it’s clear to everyone that these kids are not “looking to someone else to solve their problem”. Let’s see how this works out for Mr. Santorum; I doubt he can sink much lower than he did when his last name also became a noun.
We watched some of the coverage today from the Washington march as well as some other places. I have to say that I was impressed by the Parkland students who are leading this effort. David Hogg and the other students who have been out in front in this effort are well-spoken and able to be quite calm even when speaking before really big crowds. Personally, I was nervous in school when I had to deliver a presentation, even if it was only for the students in my classroom.
That is wholly emblematic of what rotten scum the Republican Party is comprised of.
You said it.
I watched coverage of the local march and lo and behold, one of the two main kid’s faces up front was a girl I used to have in Sunday School. I saw her this morning before church and complimented her on her actions.
How helpful is CPR when someone is bleeding out from multiple gunshot wounds?
It gives you something to do while the shooter is drawing a bead on you.
The interesting thing about these kids’ movement is that other idiot politicians are getting ensnared by their own stupid comments – it was an instant career-ender for this guy:
Republican candidate Leslie Gibson has dropped out of the race for Maine’s House of Representatives following backlash from controversial comments he made about two student survivors of the Parkland, Florida, school shooting … The Maine candidate drew outrage after posting insulting tweets about two Parkland students – Emma González and David Hogg – in light of their national gun control efforts.
I was at the Philly one, or rather it was in front of the hotel where we were.
In terms of what this rally was about, it’s amazing how many guns were there of cops; probably hundreds of officers, dozens of bike patrol officers, & SWAT armored vehicles, & guys on rooftops. Sad commentary.
You were there, too, Bo? Funny, I didn’t see you!
I thought it was probably the best organized march I’ve ever been to. Bo didn’t mention the stacks of free bottled water and the numerous porta-potties at both ends. Very well done in almost every respect.
One of the reporters at the Washington, DC rally mentioned that after the event was over, it had all been cleaned up. Unlike previous events organized by adults.
To be fair, the kids weren’t responsible for all of the organizational details. I saw one of the Parkland teens interviewed and he said that they worked with people like those behind the Women’s March for things like securing the rally permits. I assume one of these outside groups helped with other logistical details, like securing porta-a-potties and arranging for the cleanup.
