Margarita time

Our recipe for rafting trips:

2 fifths tequila
1 pint triple sec
1 pint fresh lime juice
1 pint lemon juice
1 pint simple syrup
1 stainless steel gallon jug

Freezer overnight then serve over ice. Serves 2-12.

Give me one of those sissy, strawberry slushie-type margaritas.

Actually, I’ll start with two. And completely ignore the faces I make from the “ice cream” headache.

No one has even mentioned honey? Tcha. Start with a shot of room temperature tequila and dissolve the honey into it, then mix it with the chilled lime juice and Curaçao and pour over ice.

Seems like agave syrup would be the liquid sweetener of choice with tequila!

You would think so, but it wasn’t readily available when I started making them this way, and I developed a taste for honey instead. I find the honey flavor makes a subtle difference in the finished drink. Of course, I’ve also made quick-and-dirty margaritas with the lime juice cut with Sprite. Subtlety is not necessarily a relevant factor in margaritas.

Completely over the line, and I apologize. I have no idea what the hell was going through my mind.
