Another factor that comes into play in mention of the makeup and clothing she wore and her alleged sexual activity is that it’s entirely possible that those factors made some of the guys involved in her rape unaware of her true age, and/or her willingness to go along with multiple-partner sex - assuming that not all of them knew she was under threat of violence, as is likely the case…

If the news reports are correct, then you too are correct SA. I have been working on that information as well: it makes a huge difference, not in the condemnation of the perps (that stands as given), but in the possible healing for the victim.

It started with a thread about whether statutory rape should be a strict liability crime (i.e. whether the rapist should be excused if the victim showed him a fake ID). In the course of the debate, it was literally claimed that an 11 year old could pass for a 21 year old and fool an adult male. I was pitted for basically saying that was impossible.
