In Maine, the referendum that legalized marijuana allowed for social clubs, where people could go and smoke. However, they are not allowed until 2018, to give governments time to regulate them.
Do any of the other states where it is allowed have social clubs?
And since the article says “nation’s first”, I assume that means Washington doesn’t have any yet either.
DC briefly toyed with the idea in order to end run around the total lack of any regulations for sale, but it was defeated by a 1-vote margin.
Oregon has already banned smoking in social club buildings … and this ban has been extended to smoking marijuana … I’m not sure how this addressed for clubs that already have outdoor “smoking pits” …
