Marine/Army Recruiting Question

Usually, as a retired Army guy, I answer military questions. Now I have one for you.

I am now a language teacher in Saudi Arabia. I have met a youngish American who speaks very nice Modern Arabic and who would like to join the Marines.

Either the Marines have no program to put his guy into anything but an E-3 slot or the local recruiters are unaware of it. (Did I mention we are dealing with a
Marine recruiter here?)

In my day we allowed qualified translators to go into the Army as a Warrant. Does anyone know if this program still exists?

Yes, I did a web search; the Army web site is down as of now and is awkward at the best of times. The Marine site refuses to do business with us expats.

informs me that the Warrant Officer Military Occupational Specialties (WOMOS) with linguist-qualified feeder MOS require prior Enlisted Service.
