This reminds me of a question I have that isn’t quite worthy of starting a new thread for. Are there any leaders throughout history who used troops to quell dissent who are looked upon favorably for doing so?
I’m sure the answer depends on whether the leader was a good guy or bad guy… and I’m sure the definition of “good” and “bad” depends on if you were on the winning side.
What kind of Mickey Mouse National Guard doesn’t have tents, cots, mobile mess halls, mobile latrines, etc.? If nothing else, they could use this as a training exercise. It sounds like they need it.
The problem isn’t with the troops themselves. The problem is with who’s leading them.
Those sent without proper budget or orders.
This is my rifle, this is my gun…
There’s nothing to eat, not even a bun…
Good one, I grinned.
Eisenhower used the National Guard to integrate schools in Alabama (I think it was Alabama at least.)
They’ll arrive in 2 weeks
close-
On May 17, 1954, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in Brown vs. Topeka Board of Education that segregated schools are “inherently unequal.” In September 1957, as a result of that ruling, nine African-American students enrolled at Central High School in Little Rock, Arkansas. The ensuing struggle between segregationists and integrationists, the State of Arkansas and the federal government, President Dwight D. Eisenhower and Arkansas Governor Orval Faubus, has become known in modern American history as the “Little Rock Crisis.” The crisis gained world-wide attention. When Governor Faubus ordered the Arkansas National Guard to surround Central High School to keep the nine students from entering the school, President Eisenhower ordered the 101st Airborne Division into Little Rock to insure the safety of the “Little Rock Nine” and that the rulings of the Supreme Court were upheld.
Well, they’ve deployed and are on the streets now. News is reporting they’ve already detained a person in fact.
Marines are just citizens in the military, though, right? I question the legality of them being able to detain normal citizens.
This is the mother of troops against protesters, veterans no less.

If a process says that some check-box must be ticked prior to deporting an gang-banging, domestic assaulting, human trafficking, illegal alien, then check that box quickly and get the cancer outta here.
Solving the problem of 5% of people having cut ahead in line, ahead of law-respecting folks wanting to immigrate to the US, is so huge that it unfortunately is a blunt force that will imperfectly and sometimes tragically err.
To answer your rhetorical question (some only delight in the reverberation of their echo-chamber), my primary concern is honoring the noble and gritty folks who stuck through the legal process of vetting their citizenship, becoming the most patriotic among us.
Which were not hoaxes, and what is your evidence?
So I asked Bill a question some of you are thinking of if you’re
into that world, which I find to be pretty interesting. So,
supposing we hit the body with a tremendous, whether its
ultraviolet or just very powerful light, and I think you said,
that hasn’t been checked but you’re gonna test it. And then I
said, supposing it brought the light inside the body, which you
can either do either through the skin or some other way, and I
think you said you’re gonna test that too, sounds interesting.
And I then I see the disinfectant, where it knocks it out in one
minute, and is there a way you can do something like that by
injection inside, or almost a cleaning. Because you see it gets
in the lungs, and it does a tremendous number on the lungs. So
it’d be interesting to check that. So you’re going to have to use
medical doctors, but it sounds interesting to me, so we’ll see.
But the whole concept of the light, the way it goes in one
minute, that’s pretty powerful.
Trump talks about how UV light disinfects in 1 minute, speculates about bringing the disinfecting light into the body, and ends by saying how tremendous it is that light kills the virus in 1 minute. At no point did he refer to a chemical.
I’m happy to inject some disinfectant into other hoaxes folks eagerly gobbled up from corrupt so-called news.

And he also specifically said, using the exact quote you shared (bolding mine):
No, he didn’t specifically say the word “chemical,” or whatever. But you also don’t “inject” light, ultraviolet or otherwise, so I have no idea what he was talking about “injecting.”
Trump is just a fucking idiot.
