Do animals in Mark Trail usually talk?

No, they don’t talk. That bear isn’t talking, either. The poorly-placed word balloon is showing the words of the hunter.

I’m just stunned that somebody actually reads Mark Trail. I thought it was up there with “Nancy”, just filler in the paper.

My grandmother likes Mark Trail. Family Circus too. I always just assumed they were in the paper to keep her happy.
