On the news right now, they are showing an old couple. He is 104 years old, she is 102 years old. They have been married for 83 years!
She does all the cooking. Their second son and his family lives next door, but he doesn’t bother them very much. Actually, they leave messages for each other on a blackboard outside the house! He believes that by leaving them alone, they are able to remain largely independent and healthy.
They say that their secret to long life is drinking milk.
Her hobby is making traditional Japanese hand-sewn balls. His is going out every day on his 3-wheel scooter and driving around the town.
My ex fiancee’s grandparents have been married for 65 years and the husband has not tied his shoes or dressed himself since the day they got married. Thats their secret, absolute and utter dependance.

Old Reagan joke:
A young cub reporter was assigned to interview the oldest man in town, who was celebrating his 106th birthday. The reporter goes to a neat little house outside of town and is greeted at the door by a man who, sure enough, looks to be about 106.
The interview goes well, with all the standard questions about historical events witnessed and ways the world has changed. Finally, the reporter asks the old man what he attributed his longevity to.
The old man replied, “Well, I have to chalk it up to clean living. I’ve never had a smoke or a drink, and I’ve never chased lots of women. I think it has kept me in good health all this time.”
Just then there is a crash from upstairs, followed by a loud commotion and a string of profanity that lasts about five minutes. When it finally dies down, the cub reporter looks at the old man in amazement.
“What on earth was that?” the reporter asked.
“Oh,” replied the old man, “that’s Dad. He’s drunk again.”
The drug store here in Palm Springs has the greatest collection of
“Happy 100th Birthday” and “Happy 60/65/70th Anniversary” cards. I know several couples who are in their 90s and have been married for 60 plus years. Amazing.
