Or does she need Trump’s OK to use the name Apprentice?
She may not have the numbers for NBC prime time, but she could beat the pantsuits off of all of cable early evening programming.
Reality shows are owned by the producer, in this case Mark Burnett. He can do most anything he wants with new Apprentice shows. (I say “most” because I don’t know if his contract with Trump has any legal restrictions.) He cheated with this one, if the gossip is correct. Stewart thought her show would be the only Apprentice on this season but Burnett decided to do another season of Trump and put them on consecutive days. Bad decision, but one he can correct.
They’re also saying that Stewart’s show was only intended for one season. If you believe that…
Could he put Stewart on cable? He could if he wanted. Would it work? I think not, but nobody asked me.
I’m happy with Martha’s show. She seems like a reular boss, probably nicer than most. I just hope they show all the way to the end.
Remember that reality show last season “Last Comic Standing”?
They ran it right up to the final two, and then refused to air the finale, which had already been taped but was never revealed. What a letdown!
Never saw the Trump one. I think he’s got to be better at business than show business, because he’s hard to watch for even the length of his credit card ads.

Color me naive but I do believe that. Remember almost all of The Apprentice was filmed while Stewart was under house arrest and had a lot of time to kill. The show would have to be a runaway hit to justify a repeat now that she’s off the leash and has a daily show to do, and I don’t think anyone (in their right mind) expected it to be a runaway hit. Stewart was never a prime-time star, after all; her first shows were on PBS, and her network stuff was morning-TV and syndicated daytime all the way.
