No, BigT. It’s Chuck’s. Mags is the “we’re gonna destroy you before you destroy us / if you so much as look at one of us funny I’ll destroy you” version (depends on what day he’s having).
Chuck started by creating the unfortunate name and proposing that mutants were a new species and the new step in human evolution without any actual scientific proof, has used his powers for all kinds of shit from getting his students “papered” without following procedures to avoiding taxes to getting laid to getting those students permission to go to his school when the parents weren’t particularly keen on it (“but it was for their own good!”), and every time he’s on TV or gives a public talk is an unmitigated PR disaster. Apparently his ability to read minds serves as a distraction from the kind of crowd-reading that any decent speaker can do.
OOT: just the expresion “mutants and humans” is alienating - it implies that mutants are not human. And Chuck says it about as many times as Logan goes snikt.
Yes he certainly did know that. IIRC, it is established in the book “Dangerous” (Astonishing X-Men) that Charles did indeed know that Danger had become a sentient creature, but kept it imprisoned anyway to serve his own ends.
