Is the term “African American” appropriate when discussing an alien?
Fitzsimmons were talking about using an Centipede-boosted odium to take out Talbot…have they forgotten the insane murderous fury it causes first? If anything in the current show can crack the world, it’d be a PCP-crazed Graviton!
For an actor who is British.
Renewed for Season 6 - ‘Marvel’s Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ Renewed For Season 6 By ABC – Deadline
Just saw this right now.
Hell yes!
Season finale guess: Just as he is about to give up the ghost, Coulson, 1/2 of Fitz/Simmons, and one or two others disappear via the Infinity War Mambo, and the rest of the team(plus some new members to be determined later) carry on through at least part of the next season.
When May and Coulson kissed behind the force field, my husband (Andy L) said, “SHIELD with a kiss!”
Oddly, Season 6 will be aired in the summer of 2019. That’s got to be the last season for the show. ABC Shifts ‘Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD’ to Summer
Not so odd, since it will be after the sequel to Infinity War drops. Much easier than dancing around it and avoiding anything that would spoil the sequel or contradict it.
I’m stoked that it’s renewed, though. The last few episodes have been killing it in true AoS season-ending style.
Six seasons isn’t a bad run at all. How many series make it even three seasons? Or two?
[Abed voice] “Six seasons and a movie!” [/Abed voice]
It’s clear how this would have been a fine series finale, but it has set up the major plot points for season 7. The resolution of the Talbot plot was simple and effective, but felt very anti-climatic. It held together perfectly, Coulson’s sacrifice was perfectly in character, and his timely sneaky trick worked like a charm. Daisy trying to reason with him was pretty good, but ultimately just filler as it was obvious it wasn’t going to work.
Killing of Fitz was done really well, and he’s a great actor, but a lot of the emotional impact was lost with the knowledge that there’s a Fitzicle out there somewhere that they’re going to track down and rescue. We all know a reunion is inevitable, and it’s going to be a different Fitz, one who didn’t already marry Simmons. We can do the whole emotional thing again.
Deke removed himself from the scene. Hopefully they just let his character disappear. He got over is puppy love of Daisy at least and was useful getting the Lighthouse set up for a future that now doesn’t exist.
So the one who broke the time loop was Coulson? He broke it by not taking the dose of Centipede potion and instead giving it to Daisy? Or did it also involve May destroying the last Oduim, Yo-Yo stealing the Centipede formula, May giving Coulson the option to take or not take the formula? Hard to say if it was a single thing or a combination, as we don’t know what happened in the previous time loops.
Coulson should die on Tahiti. The Philinda relationship will be brief and sweet, but Phil appears to be looking for a end. Who knows that they’ll decide for season 6?
Overall, a good way to end the season. The resolution of Talbot’s arc was too brief but it worked, killing Fitz was well done even if it has a huge loophole, Deke walked off into the night, and they let Coulson go. No real Infinity War tie in, other than brief mentions. No more Agents of SHIELD for 14 months or so.
What did May smash near the end? Was that the piece of the time travel monolith?
Guys, seriously? I thought that more appropriate than “black” and I had no way of knowing the actor was British, either. Jeez.
I agree about Coulson, his arc’s ending seems too tidy to resurrect. I also agreed about Talbot…the end for him felt a little unsatisfying.
As far as May smashing that thing, it sure looked like a piece of the monolith to me.
They’re not in Tahiti - Phil is ‘dead’ and just before dying, they put him/may back into the matrix thing to live it out. That was the whole point of the ‘rememberance’ plaque that was not dedicated to Fitz.
Just watched the last three, and reading comments here I now remember that May smashed the Odium - so what did Daisy inject herself with? Just enough to give her the juice to orbit Talbot but not enough to kill her?
I did like the callback to Talbot saying he needed a ship to breathe, not to fly.
Daisy injected herself with the Centipede juice, modified with her mom’s healing factor. It was going to save Coulson, but he gave it to her instead.
Coulson should have left the Zepher in Lola.
No, I think they’re really in Tahiti. The Framework is gone and isn’t coming back. They wouldn’t open that can of worms again just so Phil could parasail for a few weeks.
It’s a clever idea, and certainly a comic book way of doing things, but no one left in SHIELD has any fond memories of the Framework. Even if they could, no one would want to reactivate it, and it’s directly opposed to what Coulson wants.
They’ve got 14 months to figure out if they want to bring Coulson back, and how they find Fitz. They can come up with some good ideas with that much time.
I never said they were in Tahiti. I said that the ending of Coulson’s story arc was pretty tidy and that to me it would take a pretty convoluted set of circumstances to bring him back. Then again, this show has managed to do that repeatedly, so…yeah.
Clark Greg and Ming Na When’s salaries are a good portion of the show budget. I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re both gone when the show returns.
