Marvel's Agents of SHIELD

Didn’t they say “Thanos is coming”, not “Thanos is here”? Maybe they still have a few hours to finish up. I can’t remember 100%.

I believe they said Thanos’s attack on Earth had already started. That could mean the first arrival of Thanos’s henchman Ebony Maw, the matter-altering guy who came for Doctor Strange to get the time stone. The timeline isn’t perfectly clear to me but I believe that could be several hours, possibly a day or two, before the “dusting”.

Who’s the African American bad guy (alien?) that General Hale consults with about SHIELD having the gravitonium, then initiating the attack on the Lighthouse?

That old SHIELD guy also said something like “Did you see what’s happening in New York?” in the last episode. So it’s basically just started, but only a couple hours have passed so far on the show.

I’m guessing in timeline A, the cracking of Earth actually does stop Thanos. So SHIELD will end up preventing the end of the Earth, but it’s going to be a Pyrrhic victory.

Just one of the aliens who is part of the Confederacy. Not sure if they said his species.

One the things I wasn’t clear on, was the Confederacy a group of 6 alien races, or just these 6 specific aliens (and their families).

There’s wiggle room in that, though. Weird crap is always happening in New York, especially Marvel’s version of New York.

He’s a vampire from texas, but don’t worry about that right now.

You’re mistaken - he’s actually the instructor at a gladiators’ school, and a badass.

you’re right - that one was hidden from me - clearly he has a long history, even once facing the Hulk.

You’re all wrong, he was a security officer for the Concordance Extraction Corporation. I thought he died aboard the Ishimura – it’s great to see he escaped but I’m a little concerned about the change in attitude.

No no no, he was the guy who was unaware that This Is Sparta!

…I haven’t seen Infinity War yet (so please no spoilers!) but the release date of Infinity War was pushed up a week very late in the process, and I’m not sure whether or not Agents of Shield were able to adjust their timelines to match the movie release: it is entirely possible that this episode was intended to be viewed at the same time as the movie release. Fortunately it doesn’t seem to really matter, and we can put any differences down to “timey whimey”

The character’s name in Qovas, and he’s the representative of the Remorath to the Confederacy, if that helps any.

Of all the races looking to work with Gravitonium, only Baron von Strucker has been able to make this work, and it worked on the first try. And this after the machine was recreated by his son from scattered notes, damaged and repaired by Fitz, and finally operated without anyone at the controls? Seems unlikely.

Maybe this was the first time sufficient amounts of Gravitonium were gathered in one place? Or perhaps it helps to have a sentient mind or two trapped inside the supply of Gravitonium to help things along from the inside. Not the sort of thing you’d try as an obvious step.

Just caught up on the last two episodes. Holy Cow! So good! I love how this season has gone: Daisy’s going to break the world, just kidding! It’s really this crack in reality in the basement… no, just kidding, it really is Daisy, nope, got you again, it’s Kreel. Did I say Kreel, I meant Ruby. Psyche! It’s Talbot. bet you didn’t see that one coming. For real this time. Talbot. We mean it.

So many great twists and turns… loving it!

It’s been a long time since I could comment, but I’m watching the show still and I still stick by my “Just when it gets down it pops back up” assertion. Evil Hale is a magnificent twist and I can’t wait to see how they’re going to wrap this up in only two (TWO!) episodes.

Although I have to say

If this season was written as a “we have a plan if we aren’t renewed this season” kind of thing, and they already mentioned Thanos, I could easily see them ending this season by getting dusted. Although I say that, wouldn’t it come back before Avengers 4? So how would they do that? Hmm…

Since I never commented on them:

  • I hated the living Bratz doll and her mom and no tears are being shed now that they’re dead.

  • Yo-Yo is really annoying me and her motivations are stupid and shortsighted and her relationship with Mack isn’t even that compelling to me anymore.

  • Fitz is a damn good actor and it’s a shame he’ll likely never see any benefits from that

  • The Deke/Daisy storyline is dumb as well for many reasons. The show doesn’t need another lovesick person on it because that makes this the FOURTH active one. (Fitz/Simmons, Mack/Yo-Yo, Coulson/May, Deke/Daisy) and the THIRD involving Daisey (Ward, Sparky). I get that she’s the “main character” but having everyone fall in love with her is annoying and the fact that everyone has to be in love with someone is also annoying. Everyone on the team is dating/loving someone else? I feel bad for whoever that girl with the pixie cut is…she’s alll alone.

Lastly, I feel bad about it because it was the best season SHIELD ever had, but what wer Daisy’s Mom’s powers again? For the life of me I can’t remember, I also can’t really remember how she died.

Regeneration & longevity. The problem is she had to periodically drain the life out of others to keep her powers.

She was draining Daisy’s life, and Cal (Daisy’s dad) broke her neck, so Daisy wouldn’t have to choose between dying & killing her own mother.

I assume you mean Evil Talbot, but I don’t think he’s Evil. He’s insane from a combination of the torture/programming by Hydra, the voices in the Gravitonium, oh, and the fact that he was shot in the head and brought back. I don’t know if there’s redemption left for him after this, but he still thinks he’s fighting for the good of humanity. Granted, he doesn’t think he’s still human anymore…

I love the idea of introducing the Elder Kasius into the mix. I think he pushed the other Confederacy member as “generally considered the most wise” because he knew it would result in conflict with Talbot and get him killed. He was already manipulating things to his benefit, he’s a clever player. Not sure what he’s planning for Daisy but I think she still ends up as the Destroyer of Worlds. Maybe he gives her the Power Juice? Or FitzSimmons figures out a way to harness the power of it without the unfortunate side effect of blowing up your heart?

Ah, yes…thanks!

D’oh! I did mean Talbot. God I’m bad with names…

OK, moving right along towards the finale, lots of stuff.

Philinda is fully activated. Nice kiss scene, with fireworks behind the shield, pretty good image/metaphor. Daisy had the perfect reaction.

OK, they’ve presented us with the final dilemma - there’s only enough Centipede juice to either save Coulson or take down Talbot. It remains to be seen if that’s the true dilemma but it frames the final episode. So away we go.

Talbot/Graviton is on his own path now, obviously the break with his wife and his desire to be seen as a hero by his son are guiding him. He’s going to be Earth’s Savior, even if he has to destroy the Earth to do so. Why show up to talk to him with guns? That was pretty stupid, although showing that his power blocked Yo-Yo showed that the writers were at least thinking. Absorbing Gravitonium

Daisy was pretty bad ass, breaking her control chip to wake up and avoid being taken away. And May and Deke worked pretty well together to defeat Qovas while resetting the missiles to destroy the enemy ship. Deke has his moments, but they’re few and far between. He’s an OK character, but the Daisy infatuation is not a good look.

Not much character development for Mack/Yo-Yo or FitzSimmons this episode.

I’m looking forward to the season finale, and all indications right now are that the show will be back next year so I’m not expecting it to be a series finale. My predictions, Coulson will live based on the weasel words that FitzSimmons were throwing around. Talbot dies but dies a noble death via redemption somehow. Phil and May decide to go away together for a bit to figure things out.
