Where are you getting that from? Last I heard (and all I can find on google) is that nothing’s been confirmed yet, but that there are rumor’s that it probably will be renewed. The showrunners have set up the last episode this season to function as a series finale if neccessary, but are ready to continue if they can.
Infinity War spoiler:
It would be utterly awesome if the final episode ended with half the team disintegrating, with absolutely no explanation.
Just got back from IW, but on fridays ep they mention aliens in new york
Cancel bear still has it at safe-ish, where are you getting that from.
Gravitalbot will be interesting. He’s clearly a bit unhinged. I’m glad the character is still going to be around, but I can’t see him surviving this whole thing.
Was that Daisy’s mom’s grave she was digging up? Why would Quake need a shovel?
So, everyone’s cool with Fitz now?
“I’m crushing your head!”
Yes. As soon as Tony said the Nazis had a healing source that he couldn’t find on a map, I assumed they meant Quake’s mom. Don’t know why she needed a shovel, except that maybe she’s reluctant to use her powers on the Earth, no matter how small, given the whole DoW thing.
That begins to look somewhat prescient. If soon-to-be-souped-up mega ultra Gravitalbot isn’t the one who causes the world to shatter, I’ll eat my socks.
Maybe I’m just not insightful enough, but I really didn’t see Talbot the Goatee-Sporting Supervillain coming. It’s sort of difficult to discern what’s due to the brain damage, what’s the six months of torture, what’s the insanity-causing gravitonium voices, and what’s his just kind of being an idiot all along.
And they managed to shoehorn in Infinity War in a way that kind of makes sense? I haven’t seen Infinity War, so I’ll just assume it ends with Gravitalbot booting Thanos right off the planet and ushering in a millennium of peace.
Gravitalbot: “Now that I have all this power, I shall crush Thanos, then rule the galaxy!”
Strolls out of building toward mayhem in the distance. High pitched scream, followed by the sound of a human being ripped in half, then…silence.
Problem solved.
If this show were truly in sync with Infinity War, the season finale would show:
half of S.H.I.E.L.D. getting dusted by Thanos. Coulson, gone. May remains. Yoyo remains. Mack, gone. Which half of FitzSimmons would disappear, Fitz or Simmons?
Hey, I predicted that a week ago!
If Fitz gets dusted, I would not want to be Thanos. Simmons might be nice and sweet most of the time, but can you imagine the wrath she’d unleash if Fitz got taken from her?
If half of Fitzsimmons dies, it will have to be the Fitz half.
With a dead Fitz, they can reveal that Simmons is already pregnant.
So does this reformulated Talbot have a new name, or is he just Talbot still?
He has the look, costume, and powers of the Marvel supervillain Graviton, although the backstory is completely different.
Yeah, I’m not a comic guy, but isn’t Talbot originally a relatively benign Hulk antagonist or something?
I’ve still not seen Infinity War but I’ve been spoiled. It feels like if half the planet had been dusted it would have been something the folks in the future would have known about. Presumably the TV writers didn’t have insight into the Infinity War script, so I suppose it’s understandable that the integration couldn’t have been more baked in. My guess is they’ll not go for the dusting – if it’s true that they’re letting the finale double as a series ender if necessary that’d be quite the downer. Maybe they’ll just assume whatever time or dimension hopping hijinx the Avengers get up to succeeds and it never happened?
As I’ve mentioned before, my guess is that the team will end the season in the past, the future (again) or in an alternate dimension, thus sidestepping the issue.
Yes, comic book Glenn Talbot started out as one of the Army guys pursuing the Hulk (he was a major then), and also as a romantic rival for Bruce Banner’s love interest, Betty Ross. A bit of a pompous ass, but fundamentally a good guy.
Comic book Graviton was a completely different character, and his origins were completely different than what they’ve done on the show. But Graviton rocked a black goatee, just like Talbot’s been doing lately, and the first costume he wore is almost identical to what Talbot’s wearing now. And of course his powers are pretty much identical. When I saw Talbot’s new look in the previews, “Graviton” is the first thing I said.
(removed spoiler box )
If the two events (world cracking and Thanos) are happening at the same time per the latest episode of Shield - the average person would likely consider the two events ‘the same’.
