^When Fritz gets into the cryo-pod and just before he is frozen, Hunter runs up to the pod and says, “I love you.” Fritz realizes the gag and gives the appropriate response: “I know.”
This is also the dialogue between Leia and Han just before he gets frozen in carbonite in TESB.
OK, just watched the last three episodes and am caught up now. I was cold during the premier, but I’m warming up to this season now. Episode 5 (Fitz’s story) is the best episode so far.
The setup of the fight between May and Sinara was telegraphed, and Coulson talking about her injury made sure we knew the outcome. Sinara is a pretty one dimensional character, not a great baddie, but certainly not the worst. Same with Kasius. I like the mind reader guy, and Deke is moderately interesting. Same with Enoch. The general who shot the two underlings is clearly a bad ass, but must have some motivation that we don’t know about.
I like the storylines, but will be happy to see them back in real time by the end of this season.
:smack: The Empire Strikes Back is my favorite Star Wars movie and yet I still didn’t pick that up. I thought it was a little awkward, didn’t realize Hunter was making a joke.
I’m absolutely loving this season, but it really bugs me every time they show a shot of the destroyed Earth. There’s no way that debris wouldn’t have collapsed back into a sphere.
I guess that depends on how you assume the rules of Time Travel work in this instance which isn’t really clear from the show right now. What is kind of neat is unless something big changes for the rest of the series once they return to the present there will always be two Fitzs. The one we follow and the one asleep in space.
So good! I think I may have actually licked my lips in satisfaction at the end. So many good things, I’m not sure I could pick a favorite, but the Tacos response by Mac was awesome. Also the “He’s just cool” uttered by Yoyo.
It’s funny reading this thread for the first time today. SHIELD is probably my favorite show on TV but it has a serious issue with slow burn season openings. I have gotten to the point where this season I didn’t start watching until last week, finishing catching up just in time to catch the new episode.
It’s still a great show. It’s a fantastic perfect comic book of a TV show and is everything I wish the actual MCU movies were but aren’t.
But,man, the first 4 episodes of every season but season 2 have been slow as heck.
The fight between Quake and Sinara was silly. Daisy is powerful enough that she should never need to engage in hand to hand combat. That fight should have been over in 2 seconds. The fight between May and the telepath showed promise when she just acted, without thought, but they dropped that without any attempt to build on it. Fitz saved her for now, but is there a plan to save her from the roaches? Is that where Enoch was headed?
It was kind of like a Red Wedding scene, with Simmons slicing Kasias’ throat with a butter knife, and Fitz shooting down all the baddies. Was that an Icer gun or were those all fatal shots? I hope the latter.
Fitz, Simmons, and Daisy were way too lax in getting out of the pit after it all went down. Coulson, Yoyo, Mack, and rock boy are doing what, exactly? With their pilot dead they need a way to hook up with the others and have no idea what just happened.
Good episode, not great, but lots of meaningful stuff happened to advance the plot. And we get a wedding soon!
