The term mash-up comes from the hip-hop music practice of mixing two or more songs; however, the term is also applied to video and software too, on this thread the only rule is to point to internet videos or info regarding the most memorable mashups of video or video + music.

Speaking of that last “classic”, one curious thing I noticed was how European music is getting into the USA via Mashup and for some odd reason the acts are connected to anime:

The Swedish group Caramel got recently the same treatment when someone added a clip of 2 japanese characters dancing from the Anime Popotan (It is a hentai title, but they are not doing anything dirty here)
The original song (the song in the clip is cranked up in speed) is a nice one, but unfortunately I have never seen an example of what the real Caramel Dance is, any European dopers can help?
And Video Mashups can be simple: Someone added the original Herb Albert Casino Royale theme to the new James Bond Casino Royale opening:
