Apparently the shooter worked for a global security firm, G4S.
Yep. The first person to take political advantage turned out to be the President, as usual.
What should they have done?
True. If he didn’t do anything or had no specific ties to ISIS then it’s not like they can charge him.
It may explain though, how they were able to release information about him so quickly. He was on their radar.
As usual, adaher is objectively wrong.
Who beat him to it?
This is the problem with guns being so widely available and legal: You can’t distinguish a terrorist from a gun enthusiast until he actually uses the guns for terrorism.
Donald Trump, among others.
Obama, Hillary and Bernie have expressed their compassion to the victims and their families. It’s very telling that Trump still hasn’t.
Imagine, the political Head of State doing something political. Unfathomable.
And if he hadn’t been the first? You wouldn’t be at the front of the crowd yelling for his head?
Waking up in Australia and it’s headline news here too.
I’m so sorry America.
Imagine, the President jumping at the opportunity to attack America’s constitutional rights as if that was the only reason why a security guard was allowed to possess a firearm.
And if Obama hadn’t made an early and forceful statement, the same haters would have found fault with that. “Everyone else has spoken up… whassamatta, is he sleeping in this morning?” - or some such.
What a no-win job we saddle our chief exec with.
Time for you to bring your constitutional rights up to first world standards.
Ho-hum, another good guy with a gun has a bad day.
On a day like this I look upon those who responded to the emergency to prevent something worse, and those who are responding to help in the efforts of assisting the wounded and helping the recovery of the community, above those seeking to score political nyah nyah points.
This is the sort of casualty count that used to be related to bad fire safety. When it’s deliberate action by people who are out to* both* terrorize and spread hatred, it tempts to despair. Those seeking to do the right thing help fight that temptation.
…and just so people who may have lost track know who was responding to what on the accustomed sidetrack:
This was my only point.
Which is why we regulate the sales of bombs and chemical agents.
