Mass Killings in the United States, 2020

Have you ever said what the point of this “project” is? These lists just seem like a weird obsession of yours. I don’t understand what you’re trying to measure by including vehicle accidents along with shootings.

I choose for my work to speak for itself. If I claim I am trying to make some point, I will invite argument. It is a list. You may draw whatever conclusion you would like.

Once I did not include mass-killings-by-car. People complained. Now I include them as best I can. People complain. But I point out that you may remove the events that do not meet your own criteria fairly easily.

You may read my other annual lists here, although you will have to poke around a bit.

  1. 20 December 2020 Mayfield KY, 4* killed (shot) (

  2. 22 December 2020 Yonkers NY, 5* killed (reckless driving) (

Incidents 60

Killed 266

  1. 25 December 2020 Atkins AK, 7 killed (shot) (

Incidents 61
Killed 273

This is incorrect: there are 5 dead, not 7.

You are completely right. Thanks you.

  1. 25 December 2020 Atkins AK, 5* killed (shot) (

Incidents 61
Killed 271

  1. 26 December 2020 Fresno CA, 4* killed (reckless driving) (

Incidents 62
Killed 275

Now perhaps we can put behind us this accursed year.

  1. 30 December 2020 Harris County TX, 4* killed (shot) (

Incidents 63
Killed 279

There’s already a website that tracks mass shootings and doesn’t include unintentional things like deaths due to reckless driving like the OP does.

I don’t think there’s any point in continuing on with this here.

I actually appreciate knowing about some of these for two reasons: 1. it counters the argument that all major incidents are now spread throughout the news which is why everyone believes that we are going to hell in a hand basket. 2. It also shows how fragile life is as so many of these poeople are totally forgotten otherwise.

So yes it may be redundant to some other portions of other databases, but I do find it an interesting resource for news and being constantly updated.
