Massacre in Tunisia

Good job hopelessly confusing the OP, but I don’t think he’s coming back.

I come back every time Islamic terrorists kill in the name of Allah.

So the smart money says that I’ll be back.

But I do always appreciate a lesson in fraudulent semantics.

A core principle of American Exceptionalism is, It’s Always All About Us.

Confirmation bias is a demanding mistress.

Your threads are very enlightening, it’s a shame the cost is so high.

If you had only informed the Tunisian authorities as to who you think are carrying out these acts, maybe all this bloodshed could have been prevented. Please be a little quicker next time.

  1. “Properly” identify the terrorists as extremist radical Islamists
  2. ???
  3. Say hello to a wonderful, peaceful, terrorism free world!

Simple plan, really.

QED.

By “enlightening”, do you happen to mean “proving, yet again, Stringbean is a knee-jerking, reactionary, bigoted jackass”? If so, then I agree with your description.

Or, rather, hoping the sun doesn’t rise each morning.

The best part of this is the notion that you’re somehow speaking truth to power in pointing out Muslim terrorism, as if that weren’t the overwhelming focus of the entire security state, notwithstanding the actual statistics.

Mega-dittoes, buddy.

I don’t think I’ve ever really addressed the domestic threat of Islamic-fueled terrorism, nor the security state’s response to it. Though I have on several occasions railed against the DHS and (un)Patriot Act.

That doesn’t mean that radical Islam poses no threat, just that here in the United States that threat is limited and does not justify destroying Constitutional rights.

The problem, as I see it, for many of the liberals on this board is that they also despise the security state. But, as a sort of intellectual corroboration, this compels them to dismiss Islamic terrorism as something of a phantom menace. Bush and Dick fucked up any hope for a non-hyperbolic discussion on the topic, but distaste for “anti-terrorism” enforcement does not mean one can deny the otherwise apparent reality of an Islamist threat.

I focus almost exclusively on foreign terrorist attacks, because this confirms my view that the threat exists and also allows me a respite from having to acknowledge that my neighborhood police station harboring anti-ballistic tanks and teams of highly-trained SWAT personnel are perhaps somewhat justifiable.

We all have the lies we tell ourselves.

Okay, so making distinctions among Muslims is just semantics, but ‘liberal’ is the height of clarity? Get outta town!
