Massive library fire in California was arson and building had no sprinklers

Two firefighters dead; two 13-year-olds are in custody on at least two charges: manslaughter and arson.

Some 50 firefighters responded to the blaze in the 67-year-old two-story building in Porterville, about halfway between Bakersfield and Fresno. I hope they throw the book at these young idiots.

They can’t–it burned.

Resident Cecelia Nunes Martinez told Action News she hoped the city would rebuild the library and that this won’t be its final chapter.

A new library was overdue.

Bad day for libraries
