I’m going to go out on a limb, and say -10 gets you the trophy. -9 will likely be the playoff score.
I’ll also say, for whatever reasons, this year’s field seems rather weak to me-or, at least, it has underperformed. I was really expecting a very low score yesterday with the wind dying down, and didn’t really get it (Rose & Schwartzel 67’s, Spieth & Westwood 68’s).
Several good starts early by some also-rans. If we don’t see a 64 or a 65 today, with the low winds, I will be shocked.
Well, as to yesterday, the organizers put the pins in some really difficult positions on several holes, especially holes that often offer good birdie opportunities. That pin on 3 was darn near impossible to get to with a good uphill birdie putt. The pin on 12 on the left is notorious for baffling people with a subtle break towards the creek. The pin on 15 was the sort of pin that is scary, because anything short of it was a walk in the water. Etc., etc., etc. I think that kept the number of low rounds down (though someone shot a 67; Justin Rose?).
Today, the greens will be harder, and faster. Don’t expect a lot of sub-69 scores. Winner will likely be 8-under. 9-under wins for certain, I think.
Anyone who yells “Baba Booey” at the Masters should get kicked out immediately and have their tickets confiscated and cancelled.
Welp, I thought he’d be looking great if Sergio parred 3-7. He did, but Rose birdied 678. Sergio really should have had a birdie at 8 tho.
Again, surprised nobody else has made a run at the top two. Yet.
I’ll be happy to see Sergio or Rose win, but I’m disappointed Spieth is out of it-- I really wanted to see him go for a 2nd Green Jacket. Of course, how beautiful would it have been to see Freddie win it again!

I didn’t think Sergio would hold up on Sunday. Rose knows how to close. Good for him if he’s able to do so today!!
Wow, Spieth is 6 over for the day. No wonder they’re not showing any footage of him anymore.
Annnnd Sergio somehow resurrects himself from being utterly dead in that unplayable lie, and one missed putt by Rose on 13, and a birdie on 14 by Sergio, he’s right back in it.
