Matrix: Reboot, Part Deux: The Real Question. Uncanny Spoilers

**Warning no spolier boxes in OP.

I Tried getting through the other thread but reading 255 posts was just too much after seeing the Matrix all day yesterday. I went to the noon show with my wife, and movie hopped to the 4 p.m showing by myself just to see it again to firm up my grasp of it.

Now I know why it took so long to make. Exquisite. I loved it. Fight scenes wracked my brain wildly, spectacular casting, and we get introduced to the Architect.

Many of the root questions have been discussed in the other thread. But what I really want to know is. The guy laying across from NEO at the end - The hand cutter, Malachi or Roland I think was his name - I have a strong feeling he is just like NEO. Like an antithesis of NEO. If everyone in Zion was destroyed and he was left behind, he is either an agent, or just like NEO. His hand cutting would suggest a human, not a machine.

Anyone else have any ideas who this stranger is?

Second Q. Agent Smith what is he doing with his new power? Why is he so jealous of NEO?
The twins, whats up with the ghostly apparition that appears when they change to vapor for an instant?

The Hand Cutter is Agent Smith… no??
remember when Agent Smith took over the guys body and picked up the phone? He got into the “real world” but in that guys body.
I am not too sure where the story is going…
but I loved the movie… I thought they did a great job…

I didn’t know that was set in stone that the hand cutter was agent smith. Upon viewing it for the second time I wondered where he went. But how did he take on the new guys form, when he changes into someone random he usually looks like himself.

I think everyone is agreed that Bane is Smith. Smith took over Bane’s body in the Matrix, and then answered the phone when the operator called for him. So he was transported into Bane’s body in the real world. In the Matrix, one’s appearance is governed by residual self-image. That is, your body looks like what your brain looks like. In the real world, just because he took over his mind doesn’t mean his body changes.

Zion was not destroyed by Bane. He merely destroyed the ships in place for a counter-attack of the attacking sentinals.
