Maureen Dowd of the NY times takes on Palin resignation

Maureen Dowd of the NY times takes on her resignation here

What am I missing? That seemed rather shallow and considerably less than her best stuff.

It’s was pretty much a snarkfest but I think it does put the lie to the notion floated by some that Palin is doing this to set herself up for something bigger and better by pointing out in no uncertain terms just how batshit crazynuts this move appears to many people.

Contrary to many who think there is huge scandal shoe dropping in the near future IMO Palin has demonstrated a fairly low tolerance (for a politician) for frustration and not getting her way in her career to date, and is a classic “likes to dish it but can’t take it” personality. I think that all things considered re the media swarm, lawsuits, comments about her family etc. and (very importantly) the drain on their personal finances, she might well have decided that she’s had enough and made an implusive decision to bail.

Did you know you can highlight a word in the NY Times and then click on the ? that appears above it to get the definition?

Now I know what solipsistic means. And brickbat. Casuistry.

I thought Dowd focused too much on how Palin was ready for the white house because she’s crazy.

That’s awesome!

I finally know who Sarah Palin is…

Best quote from that article:

It was typical of her bullshit.

This tells you which words have been looked up the most.

Maureen Dowd’s columns, I admit, usually leave me somewhere between cold and annoyed. This one was definitely on the cold end of the spectrum. Gail Collins is a much funnier liberal commentator on the news, for my money.

Hell, even lefties don’t like Dowd that much. You’ll find her relegated to the “Mean Girls” column by the occasional Daily Kos diary. She tends to be much too impressed by her own wit.

Well, I will say that’s a flattering photo.
