In a weird coincidence, on Monday, my 8-year-old and I just started reading a book called “Maximum Boy: the Hijacking of Manhatten” which is meant as a light read but has taken on ominous new overtones. The cover shows the hero, a young boy with superpowers flying toward New York City with the World Trade Towers featured prominently in the center. We haven’t gotten far enough into it to know where the plot is going, only that it involves a ransom in exchange for the city’s safety, but I thought it might be best to pick an alternate title for the time being.
What a surreal and sad week this has been.
