Maximum Post Size.

There seems to be a maximum post size of 10,000 characters applicable to posts in this New Scenario.

While this is probably sufficient for most members of these forums, I myself am particularly long-winded, verbose, loquacious, voluble and prolix.

I am ‘seeing a doctor’ about all these conditions but, in advance of any possible cure (my doctor is ‘not optimistic’), I wonder if this upper limit on post size could be, er, at least doubled.

Many thanks.

Nostradamus, do your amazing predictive powers see an increase in post size in the future?

The limit is indeed 10,000 characters per post. We shall discuss it amongst the stuff. I personally favour making the limit a prime number.

Arnold, you’re an admin, too!

101 congratulations!

Mr. Winkelried.

Arnold.

I can predict ‘jack shit’, as you may know. But I cannot emphasise enough to you the importance of increasing the upper limit to 20,011, although I could just about live with 19,997, if you really must make economies of this kind.

Some of the complaints I wish to make in the rarified atmosphere of The BBQ Pit cannot be expressed in less than about 3,001 words.

It takes me 1,229 words to warm to my task!

Forget the whole prime number idea. We simply doubled the limit. Which means we expect to see 20,000 characters of brilliant, cogent arguments, and not 2 * 10[sup]4[/sup] bytes of inanities. Thank you for your support and please tell your friends about the Straight Dope books!

Well, you’ve got about 20,000 characters. Whether they are brilliant and cogent characters is a matter of opinion. I certainly don’t think so.

I did try though, which is surely what matters.

I think it’s safe to say that the board is glad the limit was expanded.
