I am at home, beer in hand, after the trip from Hell!
It started with traffic bad enough that I had not gone 50 miles of interstate driving in two hours! It continued with the rental car dying, & then staying in a place that makes a Roach Motel not only desirable, but classy. I actually looked online last night, don’t know why it was so busy, I guess Mother’s Day, but there was no hotel rooms within 25 miles for less that $250 otherwise I would’ve walked.
I went into the office this morning, where I found two employees. When I asked to speak to the manager, I noticed the one had ‘MOD’ on her name tag, but she stated that today she was only working the desk & was not a manager. :dubious:
I proceeded to, very politely, rip them new assholes, with both barrels (how’s that for a mixed metaphor!). The other guy lit it slip that some of the issues were his fault as he oversees that area & only asked that I be honest with my follow-up complaint.
My reply was, "I came in here, I have neither raised my voice nor cursed. I have only stated factual things, some of which you were here last night to hear about, why do you think I would be anything but honest in my complaint/review? I think he’s feeling some heat over keeping his job. Debating whether or not a pit thread is worth it…
Then they screwed up the race results: my friend who beat me was listed with a time triple what mine was, & at least three of us didn’t even have results.
Ya know, on second thought:
<puts down beer>
<picks up the harder stuff>
This just showed up in my <Junk> folder. Normally, stuff in the Junk folder is deleted unopened; however, this is from the First Provincial Bank of Beer!!!

Whaddaya say, Doggio, should I reply with all of my personal information. I’m sure Canadians are trustworthy, right?
Ay.
Dude, go for it, get your money!
Canadians do not lie or spam!
Trust me on this. :dubious:
Work was busy, State graduation and Mother’s Day. Beerverage and Asian Bachelor Food for dinner.
“For shame” says te man who steals more Christmas presents than the Grinch.:p;)
Feel better, Sunny. And the vectors ,too.
She should have said, “It says ‘MOD’ because I’m not a rocker.”
cheers!
Sure. I’m still waiting on the nice lady and her “laws firm” to send me my $10,000,000.
They are mock-Canadians. Not once does it mention crullers and not a single sentence ends with “eh”.
Back from Outrageous Bingo. Didn’t win but one lady at out table won 3 times; we all decided we hate her. This being the season lots of politicians were there shaking hands. One man running for judge came by our table and I gave him a dauber his Dad handed out running for office 45-50 years ago; I had two so I figure he needed a souvenir. He was kinda stunned and I let him know how my grandmother and I had gotten them from his Dad all those years ago. I hope he wins; if he is half the man his Dad was he’ll do good by everyone.
Happy Sunday!
Happy Mother’s Day!
I’m up too early.
I have no idea why but I am.
I may do some laundry today, or maybe not.
The dog’s bed is getting stinky.
The dishwasher is running now.
The front postage stamp will get mowed.
The tapestries will get hung.
Maybe something special for dinner tonight.
Just another day in paradise.
At the risk of cursing it, I’m feeling lots closer to human this morning. No Nyquil last night, and I mostly slept thru. Slightly snuffly but not nearly as nasty as the last few days. If this keeps up, **FCD **and I may actually go out for breakfast, altho this may not be the best day to do that. Mayhaps it won’t be stupid crowded at the cafe in Leonardtown.
Not sure if this is a testament to my superior ability to kick germy butt or the curative power of won ton soup. We shall see.
I’ll call my mom later, but that’s all I’ve got planned. We’ll just see how the day goes.
Happy Sunday and Happy Mommy’s Day to those to whom it applies!
Up, caffeinated, off to work. It’s 70, cloudy and wet.
Be you a mom, an aunt, a grandma, an older cousin, or anyone else taking on momly duties:
HAPPY MOTHERS’ DAY!!
Happy Mother’s Day!!!*
*Biological, adopted, step, fur, and Flytrap(he get’s called ‘mother’ a lot. )
But in his case, it’s only ½ a word.
Happy Mother’s Day! (& Mutha’s day) to all those who celebrate either/both.
I forgot to add the good part of the trip from Hell; I was invited to a party. Stopped at the Sleven* gas station before departing. The woman in front of me is getting 5 x 10lb bags of ice. I say, “So what your address & when should I be there?”
She turns around & instead of laughing, she tells me to come & actually gives me her address. Yup, I still got it!
I went to Ottawa with my sister yesterday! We had lots of fun. We walked around and went to some stores and visited a museum.
Back from breakfast. I woke up feeling pretty good, but now I’m kinda draggy. So I guess I’m not a recovered as I thought. Daughter just called, and that was nice. Now I think I’ll just assume the Netflix position for a few hours. With tissues nearby, of course. The snurfliness continues.
Skipping deheathenization today in favor of a huge homework push. I like most of my classes, but will be VERY glad when the semester ends and I can have some down time. (Bonus “donwanna” points: most of the work I need to do is for a class I strongly DISlike.)
I’ve added parsley and cilantro to my garden as well as another dusting of Sluggo. My dill is coming back. Dare I plant marigolds? That’s the slugs’ favorite treat.
Many moons ago, my friends and I attempted a round robin novel. Having rediscovered it recently, I decided to take on the Herculean task of scanning and editing (grammar, spelling, and syntax only) the whole thing. The worst part is looking at all the different word processing/typewriter fonts and asking Google Docs to transcribe them. Some of the misses are quite hilarious. I will collect the best ones to share with y’all
Howdy from da cave! So glad to be back home! I loved seein’ my mom and family, mind you, but still, [clicking heels]there’s no place like home.[/clicking heels] Went to an early deheathenization with mom and Frank. Then I took 'em to brunch and headed on back after that.
Happy Mommy’s Day!
I’ve been vegging in front of the TV - feeling better, tho not 100%. Maybe tomorrow I’ll be back to the usual me. <fingers crossed>
I called my mom and among other things, I get to make 2 dozen deviled eggs - that is 48 egg halves - for my niece’s shower next week. So I’ve got to buy eggs. And deviling.
I’m hungry. It’s too late for lunch and too soon for supper. Maybe I’ll just have some string cheese. Or something. Off to forage.
I finished my first foray into the world of fanfiction.
pauses, admires the alliteration
Once I finish polishing the last scene I can leave the world of Skyrim for my own world and rewrite the story I started as a plotless scene a few months ago. It acquired a plot when I listened to a Rascal Flatts song. Inspiration comes from the strangest places.
