Maybe you should change the default #days on the Search, too. (It defaults to no-limit)

I see you did it for regular topics.

I’m usually too lazy to change it for a simple search, and it’s quick enough.

But then I clicked on an oldbie’s search icon, and before it came back with 2000 posts I’d had enough time to rescue the Titanic and Elian combined.

A setting that didn’t get changed, obviously; we usually set the limit for retrievals like that at around 200.

Or is Dusy talking about where it asks “Any Date/Since Yesterday/Since 5-10-30 days ago”? The default is “any date”.

Is that what you mean should be changed?

It didn’t used to ask you how many hits you wanted; it would just inform you, “Only 200 will be retrieved.”

Yes, Notthemama, thank you, that was what I was looking at.

I didn’t know there were 2 settings involved. I didn’t use the old board.

Either way to speed up the default case would be great.
