I have a VBS that runs every night at 7PM, well it used to, until I installed McAfee. Now when my VBS runs McAfee gets all excited and gives me the option to run the script, or not. I want the script to ALWAYS run and have McAfee keep it’s big nose out of my business.
How do I “bless” this script so McAfee will chill out and let it run every day?
Right click on the little M in your tray, Select Virus Scan->Options
In the ActiveShield tab, click the Advanced Button
In the Exploits tab you’ll see an option to Enable ScriptStopper
Uncheck the box.
You’re in business.
There may be a way to disable for just the script you want to run, leaving all other scripts blocked - but I have yet to find that (sheesh, it was tough enough to find the above!)
Wow, I figured this thread was dead. Thanks for the reply. I would like to “bless” ONLY this one script. I know I can with Norton, but is McAfee and all or nothing ordeal as far as VB scripts are concerned?
I wish I’d taken note, but another Doper has a link to a query that lists all unanswered GQs. I clicked on it and found one I could actually answer!
I’ve searched again in McAfee for a way to keep Enable ScriptStopper on, but to exclude just one script. So far no luck. This, and by reading the help file, it looks like it’s all or nothing.
