So is McCovey Cove a real place as recognized by the USGS Board of Geographic Names. It doesn’t appear on the topo map for the area, although Pac Bell Park doesn’t either.
The USGS refers to the area as China Basin in its present map.
Is there a movement to get the area officially named Willie McCovey? And does that area even resemble a cove?
