So I heard McDonalds wanted to go head-to-head with Starbucks by offering lattes and capuccinos.
Interesting I thought. If they can make something even comparable at a lesser cost I might be willing to drop my Starbucks vanilla latte habit.
Finally got them at a McDonalds by me.
First, the cost. They’re cheaper but not that much cheaper. 50 cents less maybe?
You’d hope maybe they’d half the price or something coming from McDonalds. Nope.
Second, the quality/taste. Sorry McDonalds. You really missed the boat on this one. I’ve got my choice of coffee places to go around here (Starbucks, Caribou, Dunn Bros.) not to mention a few local joints. While all are different they are all in the same ballpark. The McDonald’s Vanilla Latte is not in that ballpark. I’d put it in the ballpark with a vanilla latte you get out of the dispensing machine at 7-Eleven or Super America. The 99 cents water and powdered mix versions.
Not worth a pitting but just a “wow, I can’t believe they want to pass that crap off as competing against the real thing”.
