Alas, that site must be the worst-designed “locator” on the web. Unverified sightings lacking any ability to check the actual address of the sighting. Seeing a balloon that says “Washington, D.C.” doesn’t quite narrow it down for anyone.
Anyway, I figured I’d tap into the brilliance of the teeming millions.
**When have you most recently seen a McRib, and at which McDonald’s? ** (And selfishly, any in the DC/VA/MD area?)
(Please note: feel free to pontificate/adore/criticize the McRib all that you want, but the purpose of this thread is to share the location last seen so those who do enjoy the faux-pork product can find where it’s served, i.e. focus, people!)
Morningstar Farms now has a product that looks and tasted remarkably like a McRib (though you have to provide the bun yourself). It may be “better” for you, but it’s still very tasty, though your microwave will smell like faux-BBQ sauce for days afterwards. And unlike the McRib, where you suspect there’s no actual meat, this verifiably doesn’t! No, not the same-same, but something I indulge in periodically now since McD clearly can’t be trusted with these matters.
Customer service rep for McDonald’s here. I don’t have any info about the McRib, but it probably won’t be available nationwide until after the Angus Burgers end their run in January. (I get a call about this at least once a day.)
If you talk to management, tell them that it would be cool if they could temporarily introduce various menu items from McDonald’s restaurants around the world. I rarely eat there, but would if I could try out something that’s popular elsewhere.
That sort of stuff usually isn’t possible because of supplier costs and other issues. Something that is fine in another country might not be cool with the FDA.
Also, I’m not in the same building as the corporate people. I’m not even the same city. But if you call and say that, that call will eventually end up in the hands of the marketing people. You could even start a call-in campaign (I’m only saying that because I just got promoted out of Customer Service)
Yeah, this was really just a test to see how they would sell. I think there’s been enough positive response that they’re probably gonna go the way of the McRib, showing up now and then. There’s really just not enough room to have both in the store.
Aw, that’s too bad. I admit, a McRib every now and then is fun as a gimmick food, but I actually enjoy the Angus burgers as a decent, inexpensive, quick burger.
Actually I’d agree-it tastes almost exactly like a McRib and the texture is closer to real meat. Plus you don’t have to tell the McDoofuses “Hello!? Pickles on a McRib are disgusting! No pickles!”
I find it difficult to believe that the Angus burgers are temporary. They sell like hotcakes, and are prominently featured as combos on the menu board. They have been here in So Cal for, it seems like, almost a year now.
