Meat eaters: Do you have any vegetarian meals in regular rotation?

I don’t - I know some people do. But I have several meals I know that I can just buy the ingredients for and cook without even really thinking about it. Actually the ingredients are probably just on my previous order so don’t even require being added. New dishes require thought, even if it’s not much thought.

Don’t use formal recipes either (except sometimes for baking, which is rarer) but I know what I need for my go-to recipes, and we tend to have them every couple of weeks or once a month, depending on type of meal, and with seasonal changes.

Think that’s what a lot of people mean when they say they have a meal in rotation. There are people who have the same meal every day each week but for me that would feel like being an institution.

I love chard. Now that I only have room for a few small pots on a balcony instead of a garden it was the first thing I planted. I’ve been raising it in a pot for a couple years now. Not enough for the whole year, but I love having it fresh without paying the relatively high price demanded by the stores around me.

My wife is vegetarian. I am not.

I make pan-fried gnocchi and kale regularly.

I also make a “garlic and ginger chicken rice” using fake chicken and vegetable broth. I just make it in the Instant Pot. Everything goes in, chicken rice comes out.
