Meating Requirements

A San Jose, CA.US restaurant a week or so was found to have been serving pork in dishes listed on their menu as lamb , for several years.

I just bought what is labeled pork from Safeway. I’m curious as to whether it isn’t beef; it isn’t like any pork I’ve had before. I should be able to tell the difference by sight, but maybe I can’t. I tend to be a little allergic to beef.

Is there a simple you-can-do-this-in-your-home litmus test for different meats – like different kinds will turn different colors?

Ray (Less stray dogs in SJ, since that war we lost? )

Well, if it’s Union food, it must be OK? Right?

Note that the Mercury News (Calif.) had the tests done by Associated Analytical Labs in New York. So it seems a home litmus
test would be either unreliable or too expensive.
Better to spread that expense around by shopping for the circled U or K.
