Media Player help please

I’ve been trying to download some music off of a website and I’m having trouble.

First I tried to listen to it using Realplayer, what I got was buffering, a little music, and more buffering. It got very annoying. So I killed off Realplayer and tried to use Windows media player, but Realplayer kept poping up anyway.

Next, I compleatly uninstalled Realplayer, and updated Windows media player. I downloaded the music, but I’m only getting parts of the song, it stops halfway. I don’t know why.

I tried to download Quicktime. First it told me it was downloaded successfully. I tried to play the music using that. All I kept getting was Untitled, but nothing would play. So I uninstalled that, thinking I did something wrong. When I tried to reinstall it it tells me that it’s not installed properly. I’ve done it a number of times and keep getting the same message. And I can’t get rid of the little Q on my taskbar. I thought it was taken care of , but when I restart the computer, it keeps showing up.

Please, tell me what I’m doing wrong, and how to fix it. Talk to me like I’m a three year old, I don’t know anything about my computer.

Thanks.

I think you might be trying to listen to a bad link or stream, sweetie. Post the link (if it’s legal) and perhaps someone will give you a confirmation of that WAG.
