While going over my post-surgical report from bariatric surgery, the surgeon notes that “Peterson’s hernia posterior to the Roux limb mesentery infracolically was obliterated.”
Now, I’m not worred about it; if it had been serious, I’m sure he would have told me about it. And I am asking the surgeon to clarify the term, but he is on vacation for a few weeks. I haven’t been able to find the term in Dorland’s Medical Dictionary, the nurses I’ve asked do not know what it is, and a Google search turns up only one reference to a Peterson’s hernia which does not give a definition of it. Anyone out there know what a Peterson’s hernia is?
